Who You Gonna Call? Ghostbusters! The Ecto-1 is a 1959 Cadillac Miller-Meteor Sentinel limo-style endloader combination car (ambulance conversion) used in the 1984 film Ghostbusters and other Ghostbusters fiction. The siren sound of Ecto-1 was originally a leopard snarl sound effect. Sound designer Richard Beggs used an Ampex AG-440 recorder and other analog equipment to edit, pitch, and process the snarl to create the unique siren sound.
