I wanted to produce some nice figures for some notes that I am writing on quantum mechanics, so I decided to make the figure in Scratch! Pictured on the left are examples of the shapes that electrons take in atoms. In this visualization, I draw only a 2D slice through the center of the electron cloud. The "wavefunction" is the mathematical object that we use to represent electrons mathematically, and the color of the points denotes an abstract mathematical property of this wavefunction, called its "phase". If you are interested in learning any more about this, do not hesitate to ask in the comments. I rarely check scratch anymore, so it may unfortunately be a long time before I can respond. I will try to remember to check this account, though. I hope you enjoyed this visualization! :)
