I was getting the hay net ready for Pixie before I went to go and collect her from her paddock when I turned around to see a young girl who looked to be about 12 or 13 running towards me. She told me her name was Gracie Martingale and that she wanted to help me as a stablehand. I asked if her parents were ok with this, and she said yes. I also asked her if she had experience with horses and if she had any jodphurs or boots. She said that she used to jump 80cm at shows before she moved last year, and her parents sold her horse riding gear. I thought about this for a moment. I could definitely use some help around the barn.... I ran back to my house quickly and rummaged around to find a smaller pair of clean boots and jodphurs from when I was her age, then sped back towards her and handed her the gear. She ran off, and when she came back she was wearing the gear. She looked ready for anything.
