Hello and welcome to the camper signups of the upcoming SAC session! I can't wait to get started :) ·˚ ༘₊·꒰➳: ̗̀➛ If you're participating in this session of SAC in any form, please read this description. ·˚ ༘₊·꒰➳: ̗̀➛ SAC, or Scratch Art Camp, is a two-week long virtual art camp where each camper competes for the most points, which can be earned through completing daily and weekly art prompts or posting your own art creations to be judged for point value. But that's not all we do - SAC also includes collaborative activities that encourage campers to work together and hosts an art competition towards the end of the session for campers to show off what they've learned! All through camp, friendly competition is maintained between the campers by a point system. The camp runs from the 1st of July to the 14th, and it's entirely online, so you aren't required to check in--though we encourage you to complete as many prompts as you can. The camp is split into two weeks. The first week focuses on the stereotypical "art", which includes drawing and painting. We'll also focus on basic art theory such as shading and the color wheel, although there are plenty of fun challenges and wacky prompts that artists of any level can attempt. You won't need any special art supplies--you can use anything from crayons to watercolor to complete these prompts, so long as they have color. This camp runs from July 1st to July 7th. The second week focuses on less traditional art forms such as the fiber arts, which include weaving. However, don't worry if you don't have access to a lot of yarn--all of these prompts can be completed with items as simple as trash or stationery! This week runs from July 8th to July 14th. You can decide when signing up which weeks you want to stay for, depending on what times work for you. Regardless of which weeks you participate in, you'll be creating a portfolio, which is a project with pictures of all the prompts that you've completed. When submitting a prompt for points in the studio, you'll link this project and let me know which slide the prompt is on. Portfolios will also be used for a variety of fun activities, so make sure to create one as soon as camp starts! You can make up to one portfolio for each week or just have one. ·˚ ༘₊·꒰➳: ̗̀➛ Official signups close at 23:59 UTC on the 29th of June, but you can always join as a backup camper afterwards or sign up for the next week! Remember to follow Scratch Guidelines above anything else – be kind to everyone here no matter what, and no insulting or gossiping about other people. You are expected to know all of this, but we aren't too strict! We all make mistakes, but please remember - this is just an online art camp, and we're all here to just have fun and keep the vibes happy <3 Prioritize your own mental + physical health and schoolwork over SAC. There are no prizes for winning SAC, and we would all much prefer it if you got eight hours of sleep rather than none because you were finishing up your art for the weekly. ·˚ ༘₊·꒰➳: ̗̀➛ To sign up, the only thing you have to do is to fill out this form in the *comments* below: 1 | Which weeks will you be here for? 2 | What are your pronouns and what you would like to be called (your nickname)? 3 | What is one thing in art that is completely out of your comfort zone? 4 | Would you be comfortable having any of your artwork (with credit ofc) or comments during July quoted or screenshotted for the SAC memory book? (Answer with either "always", "ask first", or "never") 5 | How much yarn do you have access to/are allowed to use for completing SAC activities? (This is just a poll--depending on the results there may or may not be a yarn activity). ·˚ ༘₊·꒰➳: ̗̀➛ FQA: →How much art experience do I need to attend? You don't need ANY experience whatsoever if you want to join this camp--we'll teach you everything you need to know. This art camp is for people of all skill levels. →What if I have more experience--will I get bored? Don't worry--no matter how much of a pro you are, our prompts are guaranteed to challenge you and introduce you to new ideas while also having fun :) →How often should I be checking the official camp studio? I recommend checking it daily or as often as possible--you never know when we have new announcements. However, keep in mind that this is a chill camp to give you artistic motivation, and you can complete as many or as few activities as you want depending on your personal life. →Will these camps include digital art? The first week of camp has prompts that can be completed via digital art, but the second week focuses on more hands-on activities. ·˚ ༘₊·꒰➳: ̗̀➛ Credits → The wonderful people at SWC for inspiring me to make this and creating the majority of this description with a few minor edits by me. ·˚ ༘₊·꒰➳: ̗̀➛
