Natalie-Because we have a test today. And I already know I’m gonna fail. Athena-You know, I offered to help you study like 10 times. Natalie-Well, yeah, but I hate studying. Sophie-We need to hurry up before I get another tardy slip. My record can’t handle another one! Natalie-Hold on. I need to see Tyler. Athena-Oh, you and that boy. Sophie-We NEVER hear the end of him. Everyone on the ground, now! Sophie-What are we going to do?! Natalie-Shh. It’s ok. *3 very long hours later* Principal Munroe-We are in a code yellow. I repeat, we are in a code yellow. You may walk around the school, but you may not step outside the school. Sophie-We have to find Athena. Natalie-Yeah, hold on. Mrs. Nash? Mrs. Nash-Yes? Natalie-Were there any casualties? I seriously thought I was going to die. Sophie-Why are we in a code yellow? The police arrested them, right? Athena-Right before the code yellow annoucement, I heard the police cursing and leaving the school. I think the criminal escaped. Sophie-Oh my gosh! Do you know anything else?? Athena-The person who broke in had a knife. Natalie-Oh my gosh. Did anyone die? Athena-I don’t think so, but that was really scary. *Cassie walks in* Athena, Natalie, and Sophie-Ugh! Cassie-This is literally going to be SO good for my instagram story. Natalie-Seriously? We almost just died, and that’s what you're worried about? Cassie-We didn’t even come close! Athena-What are you talking about?? Cassie-I think you guys just worry too much. *Principal Munroe comes over the intercom* Principal Munroe-We are in a code green. Please call your parents to come pick you up. Sophie-I’m so glad that the school is letting us go home! Athena-It would be insane if they didn’t. I heard that they might close school tomorrow for an investigation. Natalie-I really hope they find the culprit. Sophie-Yeah, me too! *A few minutes later* Natalie-Mom! Mrs. Parker-Natalie, oh my goodness! Are you alright? Natalie-Yeah, I’m fine. Everyone is fine. Mrs. Parker-Are you sure? Natalie-I mean, I know my friends are fine. But no one will really tell me anything!! Mrs. Parker-I will figure out some more information. But for now, I’m glad that you are with me and you are safe. But be prepared for Susie to ask a million questions. And be honest. She can sense lies. Natalie-Yeah, I know. I’m not looking forward to it, though. Where has she been while you’re at work? Mrs. Parker-She’s been with Tess. Tess is almost her full time babysitter now. Natalie-I need to meet Tess. She seems really sweet. Mrs. Parker-She’s a lifesaver. *As the walk into the the house, Susie appears and Mrs. Parker leaves* Susie-You were on the news! What happened? Are you okay? Was there blood? Did anyone die? WHAT HAPPENED?? Natalie-Okay, okay. Calm down. Someone who was bad came into my school. And they wanted to hurt us. But, uh, the police took care of them. And everyones fine. Susie-You know not to lie to me. Natalie-Okay, fine. I’m not sure if the police took care of them. Susie-There’s a bad person in our neighborhood? Natalie-Yeah, there is. But it’s alright. Because I will always protect you. Susie-I’m really scared. Natalie-Yeah, me too. So we can be scared together. It’s kind of our thing. Susie-Yeah, it is. Mrs. Parker-Natalie, I need to talk to you.
