German "Zivilpolizei" (civilian patrol vehicles) are mostly mid-range station wagons and sedans from German brands such as VW Passat, Golf Variant, Touran, Opel Astra, Insignia, BMW 3 Series, 5 Series, and Mercedes E-Class, though foreign models and vans like the VW T5/T6 are also used. These vehicles feature extended radio antennas, concealed LED flashers on the front, windshield, or rear window along a magnetic blue beacon mounted during operations, LED signal boards for stop requests or notices, and tinted rear windows. Inside, they are equipped with a radio system, siren, PA system, and some police equipment like a camera or a EC-card reader to collect fines.
