Only on pic lol Also me realizing this lore went from, ‘AHAHAHA SILLY PIRATE CAT’ to ‘ME SOBBING IN PIRATE’ like I swear the lore and family tree for this—
Working on some SCRUMPTIOUS Writing about some pirate cats >:3 meet Hook and Marrow! I’m still going through a TON of editing, and I’m thinking about releasing a chapter every week maybe! (There probably wouldn’t be art for it, unless you guys begged me :sobs:) Here is the first chapter! (I have 32 chapters so far :insert skull emoji lol: Chapter 1! The sun spilled gold across the waves, turning Pearlwater Sands into a dream. Seafoam tickled the white shoreline while palm shadows danced in the breeze. And just beyond the cove, two young kits darted into the tide; giggling, splashing, racing toward the deeper blue. “Don’t stray too far!” called a voice from the cliffs. Swan, their mother, stood with her tail lashing nervously, watching from the dunes. Her silver-white fur shimmered under the sun, but her eyes were clouded with worry. “We won’t!” Hook and Misty shouted in unison. They were barely more than kits, still small enough to ride waves, but old enough to crave the freedom of the open sea. Misty swam with graceful strokes, the saltwater beading on her sleek gray fur. Hook paddled ahead, faster, bolder, his brown ear flicking as he turned to look back. “Come on, Misty!” he laughed. “Let’s check out the lagoon!” Misty’s paws slowed. “The lagoon?” she echoed. “Mama said there’s eels in there… the ones with sparks in their teeth.” Hook grinned, eyes full of mischief. “That’s just a story. We’ll stay near the edge. We’ll be fine!” She hesitated, then sighed and followed him, as she always did. The lagoon’s waters were darker than the ocean, shaded by jagged rocks and thick coral growth. Strange currents tugged at their paws. Below the surface, long shadows slid between the kelp, and the water pulsed with a quiet hum; like a heartbeat. Misty gasped. “Did you feel that?” Hook nodded, eyes wide. “That’s so cool…” Just then, something flickered beneath him, a shimmer of silver, and then— Snap! A long, coiled eel shot from the coral. Its teeth sparked with blue light as it lunged. Hook yelped and kicked backward, the flash barely missing his paw. The water boiled around him as Misty grabbed his scruff and pulled him back. “Go! GO!” she cried. They tore through the current, streaks of panic in the open water. The eel didn’t follow , but the fear did. When they reached shore, soaked and breathless, Swan was waiting. Her fur stood on end. “Where were you?!” she demanded, eyes locked on Hook. “I told you not to go far!” Hook shrank a little, but puffed up his chest. “We were just—” “Exploring the lagoon?” Swan’s voice cracked. “Do you know how dangerous that is?!” Misty stepped in. “He almost got bitten… but we got out. We’re okay.” Swan’s gaze softened, but her voice stayed sharp. “You’re lucky. You don’t understand what the ocean can take from you.” Hook looked down, paw still tingling where the eel had struck too close. “...Sorry, Mama.” “Sorry, Mama,” Misty echoed, brushing her tail against Swan’s leg. Swan sighed and pulled them both close, wrapping them in her warmth. “Just promise me, no more lagoon. Not alone. Not without me.” They nodded. But the sea, as always, would keep calling. And Hook… would keep listening.
