* The Darkest Sea * A Silverstar SRP Silverstar’s stormy eyes were wide, yet thin as slits, as star stared down at his lightly trembling paws. A tightening grasp clawed around its heart. Star couldn’t even bear to look a single cat in the eye. It wasn’t true. By the stars it was not true. IT WASN’T TRUE. He wanted to scream. Tell them they were lying. Barnaclebrawl isn’t dead. They—they couldn’t prove anything unless Silverstar stood up and saw it for himself. Star had to see the body. Star had to prove the world wrong. But he couldn’t stand to see it. Not only because star knew deeply that it was true— but for the fact that he couldn’t stand. The weight and insistent kicks inside it were too strong. He’d been this way for moons now, and the time was coming. Heat gathered in his head. He couldn’t think. Just screams— raging in the leader’s mind. A storm— no, a typhoon. A tsunami— does it matter? It was drowning either way. Choking. Star strained himself to hold in the tears. There were kits and queens here. The future of SeaClan couldn’t have their early memories be of a weak leader. He’s dead. He’s dead. He’s /dead/. ‘STOP!’ The scream almost burst out. His heart raced faster. Breaths, faster as well. Star’s claws dug in the ground, lips trembling. His white-flecked fur raised. It paused. Silverstar’s eyes rounded as star glanced down at his belly. They wouldn’t have a father. Only one. Just like Silverstar had before— even if it was a different situation. At least Silverstar had heard his father’s voice. Had felt his fur once, even if it faded fast. It didn’t remember it very well. Clear liquid then slipped from the icecat’s frost-colored eyes. “They won’t ever see him. Or know him. They won’t see his smile… they won’t see the way his eyes shined like purple seashells.” Star muttered, quiet as ever. His face got bluer as it choked it all in. ‘They can’t see you like this.’ ‘But there’s nowhere to go.’ The screams grew louder. He stared again, tears starting to flow harder. ‘You’re failing. You’re failing as a leader. You are so /weak/! Stop crying. Stop crying! Stop…’ Then a quieter voice whispered from beneath, ‘What kind of parent falls apart like this.’ ‘You’re messing it all up. You’re going to ruin them. They’ll come and go. It’s in your bloodline.’ ‘And what if they look like him?’ There it was. ‘What if they come out with the exact shade of violet in their eyes? What if they smile the way you used to, and I can’t even bring myself to look.’ Or worse. ‘What if they look like me and I’ll just bring in more curses like myself. And I couldn’t love them right? And I’ll forget. And they’d never know—’ Tears blurred everything now. His vision was like melting ice. ‘They’d never know the treasure I lost the night I brought them into the world. A life for however many there would be.’ The icecat glared at the exit through weary, glassy eyes. If it could just see him… One more time. One last time. It was too late. The ship had lost its captain… and Silverstar was lost. Lost in the darkest sea. —————————————— Barbie :,( Well that’s that….sad Silverstar arc part 5323752222 Fun fact is that I cried while drafting
