Chapter 1: Wanted Attention Name: Alexandra Age: 17 And there I was, sitting on the bench, witnessing them bury the last family member of mine, my mother. I started to think it was all because of me, ever since I was born, my family began slowly fading away, until it was only me. “Alright,” said an old lady next to the bench, she was talking bad about me to others, right next to the bench, where she knew I was. “I feel bad for the poor girl,” said a young mother with her soft voice, “I wish that never happened to my little Kelly.” The old lady glanced at me and started talking again with her big mouth, “It was Emily’s fault anyway.” she said, blaming my deceased mother, “I warned her not to marry such a man, and to not have children, they tend to bother a lot.” “You knew her mother?” said the young mother. “Obviously, she knows everyone,” I heard a man say. They kept talking and talking about my mother and my family as if they didn’t notice I was right there. A few moments later the young mother came up to me, “Hello, I’m-my name is Anna,” she said. Without realising, I replied arrogantly to her, “My name Alexandra.” “Oh, what a nice name.” “-Sorry I didn’t mean to reply so” “-It’s ok, I was like you when I witnessed my father pass,” she said, “what I would give to see him again” “Yeah, I know that feeling.” “If you want, you could come live with me, I know you don’t have anyone left.” “I’m ok.” “It’s alright.” Who am I kidding, of course I'm not ok, my mother just died, I have no family left and I just happened to reject an entrance to a humble home, with the nicest person on earth. I spent most of the day thinking about my mistakes, and what I could have done instead, maybe then I could have still had my family. I miss my mom, I miss her so so much.
