i see this idea of scratch being a dying site every year. although i probably don't deserve to form an opinion on this topic cuz i've been pretty distant from the majority of scratch since 2022, from what i've seen it's not really dying. far from it, actually: looking at https://scratch.mit.edu/statistics/ we can see that numbers have been overall steady following the initial drop in new users after the pandemic. although i see many people leave the site for various reasons, it seems that the majority of scratchers have decided to remain on this platform. numbers aside, from at the very least an outsider's glance, the site's been overall the same. the major groups of scratchers i saw when i first joined this site in 2019 still remain (animators, warrior cats fans, platformer creators, etc.), and i've actually seen an *improvement* on the explore page. it's no longer filled with JUST generic platformers, and i've seen a fair amount of original (and genuinely cool!) stuff there. also, i've seen some people say scratch is a worse site due to things that only affect them on a personal level. although the site may be less inviting to *you,* i don't think it means that scratch overall is dying. i'm not opposed to being wrong about scratch dying, though. maybe from an insider's perspective there's been a falloff of some sorts that an outsider would be unable to notice. feel free to voice your opinions in the comments :p
