*Sorry if the text is too small! If you have trouble reading it, you can try putting the project in full-screen mode.* **If you're going to switch songs while one is still playing, make sure to press the stop button first.** These are the recordings from the Final Round of my June 2014 piano competition. At this point, I THINK I had only been taking piano lessons for roughly around 6 months to a year. I can't remember exactly, the number may be off. I'm glad I finally get to share these recordings with you guys! I've been meaning to since 2014... that's how much of a procrastinator I am. xD There's mess ups, and I've improved since then, but I'm just going to use these recordings since they're on a nice, tuned piano. :) Maybe someday I'll make better recordings of these, but right now my piano's not tuned.
•Sonatina in G Major Op. 36, No. 5, 3rd movement --Muzio Clementi: A cute little sonatina! I had fun with this one. :) Idk if any of you recognize the tune. Apparently, there's a song called "A Groovy Kind of Love" that based the melody off of this song. •Bourree in C minor --Leopold Mozart: A short little bourree. Back then when I first started, this song was most suited to my style (not too many dynamics, and not too much rubato.) It's also the most boring-sounding because I didn't stray out of the box as much as I could have. •Op. 39, No. 21, Sweet Dreams --Pyotr Tchaikovsky: This song was the most difficult for me that year! I had a lot of trouble putting expression into my pieces, and this was supposed to be an emotional song with varied dynamics and rubato and all that. I struggled with it, but in the end, it really helped me improve. :) •Jig --Violet Archer: I liked this one! It was fun to play. But again I struggled with putting dynamics and character into it, so it sounds a little monotone. But even today I still enjoy playing this one as a break between songs! ----------------------------------------- Piano guy gif from the Google Doodle when it was Bartolomeo Christofori's (inventor of the piano) 360th birthday.
