*Sorry if the text is too small! If you have trouble reading it, you can try putting the project in full-screen mode.* **If you're going to switch songs while one is still playing, make sure to press the stop button first.** These are the recordings from the auditions of my February 2015 piano competition. Unfortunately this year my songs weren't as prepared and I didn't make it to the Final Rounds. At this point, I THINK I had only been taking piano lessons for roughly around a year--a year and a half. I can't remember exactly, the number may be off. I'm glad I finally get to share these recordings with you guys! I've been meaning to since 2015, but apparently I'm lazy, LOL. There's TONS mess ups, and I've improved a lot since then, but I'm just going to use these recordings since they're on a nice, tuned piano. :) Maybe someday I'll make better recordings of these, but right now my piano's not tuned.
•Gavotte --F. J. Gossec: Oh boy, that performance was rough. There's so many wrong notes. But anyway, here's a bouncy little gavotte! Or, it was supposed to be bouncy... It came out more timid, haha. Wow, it's so slow, too. (Sorry for the rustling). •Sonata in G Major No. 25, Op. 79, 2nd movement --Ludwig van Beethoven: My most difficult song of the year! This recording actually isn't from the competition -- it's from the piano camp ending recital. I really like this song, it's so pretty. Maybe I could have been a bit more dramatic with it, though. It is Beethoven, after all. xD •The Mechanical Doll --Dmitri Shostakovich: At this point in time, this was my most unique/bizarre sounding piece! It was also very challenging for me because of the dynamics and odd notes. xD It really helped me improve my dexterity. that terrible ending, tho. •BONUS: Serenata Alle Stelle, "Serenade to the stars" --Etorre Pazzoli: This is NOT a song I played in my competition. I just put it in here because I learned it that same year at a piano camp. This is a DUET! I'm playing the lower part (Secondo), and one of my friends from the camp is playing the melody/higher part (Prima)! She's really awesome (as you can tell). xD Sorry if my part sounds a little timid/quiet -- keep in mind I only had 5 days to learn this and then perform it on the 5th day, and I'm terrible at sight-reading. Oh, and the recording cut out a few bars in the middle. :( Which is sad, because those were literally the few bars that I had a little solo part in.... LOL. ----------------------------------------- Piano guy gif from the Google Doodle when it was Bartolomeo Christofori's (inventor of the piano) 360th birthday.
