built off of my tile engine project: https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/1163279269/ as mentioned in the title, this project is unfinished. most buttons in the editor do not work!! but the editor does. art by me as per usual, and yes, even the code is by me!! yap: i believeee i gave up on this after a few days because 1) school doing school things, and 2) i realized i wanted 2 tile stamp layers and i wasnt really willing to add that!! i had a lot of ideas for this, but ultimately i got lazy and went back to my little art hidey-hole, which i remain in to this day, oo-oo-oo! but idk, i think its cool now looking back at it, but im still not touching it LOL! but perhaps one day i may start to (re)make this as an actually good tile editor with more than like 3 tiles. i think itd be cool if i can make it 2 layers (main tiles then bg/wall tiles) and just general nice things, like animated tiles. maybe a way to load these levels without having to manually do so, like a door or something. also, i thought about making tiles with data (facing direction, text like on signs, etc), which is why the wrench tool existed, but again, i didnt get to it! it'd also likely jack up the level strings length. i mean thats whatever, since level strings are only really meant to be stored in the project and not shared, but wtv!! also also, i wanted to add like a "level settings" tab in the editor, where u edit the dimensions of the level. i made a few custom blocks inside the project that allow you to easily change the width and height of the level,. check that out if u want!! anyway yeah,. tile engines always interest me, and i did sorta impress myself with the initial tile project. i thought it was cool to have merging tiles that dont lag the entire project. the only hard part about tile engines is actually adding player and npcs, especially because of those darn collisions! i think if anything, ill make another tile engine solely for tiles. i dont think id wanna finagle myself with making player collisions. i just think that tile engines have a lot of potential to be quite pretty and flexible. anyway anyway, for the final thing this time, i think i mayyy tap in again on coding some projects in scratch. under no circumstance am i an awesome coding wizard (bc if i was i would be somewhere else right now) but that doesnt mean i cant have fun and make little projects for mostly myself. it might be very gratifying to see my ideas be actualized, but idk!! anyways byeee!!
