I FINALLY FINISHED THAT WIP I SHOWED YAYY This took like 8 hours the rendering was lowkey a pain but it was very much worth it I think!!!! Also there’s supposed to be ketchup near Cricketcry but once more I don’t feel like being smited by the scratch gods so unfortunately that has been omitted (ALSO SIDE NOTE QUALITY IS KINDA BAD SORRY I’ll fix it like whenever I wake up later and am on my computer or something!!!) Thoughts on the piece myself? I’m honestly really proud of it and happy with how it turned out! I tried out my dry ink brush again for this, and it went really well actually?? Lasso tool was involved a bunch, but that isn’t super out of the ordinary for rendered pieces. I might start using dry ink as one of my primary lineart brushes until / unless I figure out a better way of using the syrup brush since I do like it a lot OHYEAH LORE There is lots of lore behind this!!! The short answer is that Seraph (pale / lighter colored cat) almost caused Cricketcry (darker colored cat) to be taken off the census like 3 times, 2 of which having his direct involvement in. Also she’s a horrible cat The long answer?? WELL. As a ‘summary’: Seraph is an extremely manipulative and toxic cat that ends up ‘befriending’ Cricketcry (an already very vulnerable cat because they’ve been consistently shunned and harassed by their clan for a year and a half straight), something she did purely so he could use them for personal gain later down the line. He ALSO starts a ‘relationship’ with them which might be like one of the top 4 worst things to happen in the Cricketcry lore if I’m being honest. Seraph ends up HORRIBLYYY mistreating them, to the point she nearly murks them once, would’ve been the cause of another near-passing of Cricketcry, AND they (Seraph) try to actually and fully straight-up murk them a few moons after they managed to leave him. Also did I mention Seraph is like wildly possessive yeah there’s that too THERE’S A LOT MORE I DIDNT MENTION BTW Oh there is so much more but unfortunately I cannot dive into that right now because 1, the 30 hour run is beginning to get to me. And 2, some things in the Cricketcry lore are uh!! Very dark!!! Like extremely VERY very dark!!!! So unfortunately even if I could ramble about Cricketcry there’d still be things I’d have to leave out I fear GRJFHFJDJSH I do want to ramble about them though believe me I could talk about them for several description boxes OK YAP OVER I THINK this description is so messy but like I said I’ve been up like 30 hours!!! Yes the tired is only just now hitting me. This is Quill we’re talking about I have demons in my circadian rhythm after all
