Chapter 3: Twix It was a warm summer day when I met her. I was hunting in the woods behind the human town when I saw a small bundle of white fur sitting on the stone wall bordering the forest. I approached the wall out of curiosity and found that the little bundle of fur was a cat. Well a kitten. She was wearing a light pink collar and was looking up at the sky with her big blue eyes. I sat there watching her for a while, I still don’t know why. When I decided to leave I wasn’t being careful and stepped on a twig. The white kitten stood up fur bristling. I don’t know why I didn’t leave before she saw me. I don’t know why I took a step forward. I don’t know why I waited for her to calm down and then leap on to the wall with her. I don’t know why I approached her and looked down into those eyes. I don’t know why she looked up into mine. I did know one thing though. I knew that I would never stop thinking of her until I came back. Chapter 4: Melody The brown tabby came back everyday after. We play-fought, climbed trees and napped together. It felt nice to have a friend who had a tail and could climb as high—and higher—than me. Although I don’t know her name I look forward to her visits. When she’s not here though I play tag or hide and seek with the small human. While hide and seek and tag are fun I find it more enjoyable to be with another cat.
