Halo stepped out into the snow, clutching her chest and wincing. The adrenaline that had pushed her through the pain was receding now, and it was apparent she needed medical attention. The disinfectant from Decontamination still stung the wound in her torso as she made her way to Medbay. She had hidden her mouth, already coming up with a lie to tell the rest of the crew. As she stumbled through the snow, wincing at the pain in her head and in her chest, Halo noticed Captain White out of the corner of her eye. He was standing in front of Medbay, looking around almost nervously. He spotted Halo. “Halo! Are you okay?” he asked, running over to her. “Do I look okay?” Halo asked, grimacing. “Look, if this is some sort of ruse to get the crew to believe you’re innocent, it won’t work,” White told her. “Phae’s child already told Beau and Oli that you’re an Imposter.” Halo stopped for a moment, her free hand twitching towards her concealed knife. “...We need to get to them before they escape,” White said, narrowing his eye. 'Oh good, he’s an Imposter too.' “Well I would go after them, but I’m kind of not in the best shape right now,” Halo said, gritting her teeth and noting the hesitance in White's voice. Whatever, she was just glad he wasn't going to toss her into the lava. 'I can get you through it until you finish,' Abraxas rumbled in her head. “There’s no time. I can get you fixed up afterwards,” White said, gesturing for her to follow. “Alright, I’m coming,” Halo sighed. She felt the pain in her body and in her head numb a little as she and White sprinted through the snow. When they got to the landing pad, Oli was already carrying Erin up the ramp into the ship. Beau turned around and saw Halo and White running towards them. “Oli! They’re coming!” Beau shouted. Oli turned around and saw them. “We’re not going to be able to get the ramp up fast enough!” he yelled. “You and Erin go! I’ll hold them off!” Beau said. “But-” “JUST GO!” Oli ran up the rest of the ramp. Beau turned to face White and Halo as they approached. Halo ran up to Beau and lunged, aiming her teeth for his throat. Beau dodged to the side just in time, but he was too slow to avoid her next attack. Halo whirled around and grabbed his shoulder, throwing him to the ground. Beau kicked upwards, catching Halo in her injury. She roared, lashing out in retaliation. The blow hit Beau on the side of the head, dazing him. Halo grabbed Beau and pulled him up, positioning her claws over his throat. “Any last words?” she growled. “You’re... you’re too late,” Beau coughed out. “They’re leaving.” Halo looked up and saw the dropship’s engines starting up. She put one hand up to shield her eye from the blazing light as the ship took off, wheeling away into space. “Well, at least we have you,” Halo grinned. She opened her maw and bit down on his neck. Beau immediately went limp.
