As Avery walked with me through the halls, I couldn't help but notice that a lot of students were staring at me. " Avery, what's with the staring?" I asked her as we kept walking. She stopped and put her palm on her forehead. " Right! Sorry! Let's catch you up a bit!" She started. " You are Amelia Potter, daughter of Harry Potter, the famous wizard who defeated Voldemort. About a year ago, Hogwarts set on fire and you, me, Ava, Brandon, and Arina went to go find out why. Turnes out, you were a fire goddess and had to battle this water goddess girl named Talia, who got whooshed into a portal. THEN, there was a dance about 5 months ago where everyone found out about your powers and now, they think you are super cool." I blinked a few times just to make sure I had heard all of that right. " Ok, so, I am a magical fire goddess, who BURNT DOWN a school, risked 4 student's lives on an adventure, banished an evil goddess into a portal, and have powers that could, potentially, DESTROY THE WORLD?!" I screamed. Avery smiled. " Pretty much! " She said lifting one of her shoulders. I my hands on my head. " Wow, do I want to remember all of that!" " Yeah, I bet!" Avery said, then cringed. " Oh, and there's sone more thing I have to tell you..." She said sheepishly. " Hey, losers!" Someone said behind me. Avery groaned and rolled her eyes. " Juliette." " Long time no see, Avery! I heard my friend, Lara, has been keeping you busy?" Juliette said with a smug grin. I could almost feel the boiling anger coming from Avery. " Lara has NOTHING to do with this!" Avery snapped. Juliette rolled her eyes and stared at me. " How has "little miss perfect" been liking all of her attention?" She mockingly exclaimed. I just stared back at her. I didn't know who she was or why she was so mean! " Why does "little miss mean" have to bully everyone!" Avery yelled. " Is it because you're insecure?" Juliette scoffed and looked away. " Well, at least I'm not going to go to a dance with another boy!" Juliette snarled. " Enough, Juliette." said a kinda cute boy with brown hair and green eyes. I tugged Avery's robe. " Jacob. Your friend. Has a crush on you." She whispered in my ear. My face turned red as I heard her say that. I can't BELIEVE I forgot that a guy liked me! " Juliette, I thought I had asked you to stop picking on Amelia." Jacob said in a calm tone. " JACOB! Er- uh... about me asking you to the dance-" Jacob narrowed his eyes at her. " I wanted to apologize for acting up. I... came up to Amelia to- er- apologize! And- and then her friend started trash talking!" Juliette stuttered trying to sound innocent. " Juliette, we both know that's not true." Jacob said. Juliette glared at me and sashayed away. Jacob turned to me. He sheepishly stared at me. " Sorry..." He started. " For what?" I asked. " For... asking you to the dance." Jacob said. I wanted to grab all my memories of that happening. My blush turned even redder than before. " I didn't mean to put so much pressure on you. I should have known. I mean- you and Brandon..." I thought for a minute, then remembered who Brandon was. Wait. Me and him? " Uh- anyways. I just wanted to... say sorry." Jacob mumbled. I looked over at Avery. She kept staring at me, then Jacob, then me, then Jacob, over and over with her jaw dropped. I felt my face heat up. " Well, uhm... ok! Thanks..." I muttered. Talk about awkward! He half smiled then walked away. I turned to Avery. " WHY DIDN'T YOU TELL ME I WENT TO A DANCE WITH SOMEONE?!" I asked blushing like crazy. " Oh... whoops?" She said shrugging with a guilty smile. " Was it the... same Brandon from before..?" I asked. she nodded. My face was probably beet red by then. " You guys are a thing now! You're SOOO cute together!" Avery gushed. I started smiling. " You couldn't have led with that?" I laughed and so did she. I felt so happy. And weird. I couldn't believe what she had just said.
