20 Questions for Writers! (To Make You Think Hard) 1. Q: What got you interested in writing? A: My sister always wrote books, and she kind of inspired me. Also, since I have no romance happening irl I might as well write about it ! 2. Q: Did you always like writing? A: No. In first grade or something, I never really liked writing because I didn't get to write about what I wanted. We always had to write about "How to" stuff. And I thought that's what all writing was, so I disliked it. 3: Q: What is the story that has just been sitting around in your brain, waiting to come to life? Is it just a vague idea that catches your heart, or is it already an elaborate story? A: There's this book I'm writing called Your Secret Admirer, but I haven't been writing it much recently. I think I'll redo the book tbh. 4. Q: What makes a story catch your heart? A: The detail and if it has romance or horror. 5. Q: Do you think that there's a pattern that all good stories follow, or are they all different? A: I guess the detail. All good writers make it seem like you can actually imagine it in your head. 6. Q: Did you ever cry over your own writing? Laugh over it? Shiver over it? A: No. Well, actually, yeah. Because it was so embarrassing. :) 7. Q: What do you despise in stories? A: When it's dry, and they just ramble on about random stuff, not even explaining anything. Especially if it's really confusing, for example: The main character who is a dinosaur with wings and a bunny tail, and he has a house made of camera windows. I don't even know what camera windows are, I js made them up. XD 8. Q: What makes a story bad (in your opinion)? A: If it's sci-fi, fantasy(most fantasy is good but some I don't like), or it's dry. 9. Q: Which is more important in a story: emotional depth, or an interesting plot? A: They are both needed in a story, and I feel like if they aren't, it's just makes the story bad. It needs both to make the story interesting. But if there's too emotion(ifyk what I mean), it's kind of dramatic. 10. Q: Is there a specific thing your stories tend to center around? (Ex: setting, personality of character, genre, ect.) A: Romance. 11. Q: Do you plan to become an author someday? A: Yes, but I will also have a normal job. Writing books will be what I'll do in my free time. 12. Q: What are your favorite themes (morals or messages) in stories? A: Like murder and romance ? Idrk what you mean by that. 14. Q: What are the cliches you hate the most? A: The most annoying theme\plot(its for little kids but still) is when a dog goes missing, the family looks everywhere for it, blah blah blah, they literally can't find it, and then they finally find the dog at the end of the story blah blah yay that's the end. I don't know why but it annoys me. Like, get yr own idea !! It is so unoriginal and simple. Maybe do something complex and interesting for once ?? 15. Q: Is there a way to make those cliches not so bad? Do you think you could do it if you set out to try? A: I mean, I guess. If you add WAY more detail and the story doesn't just focus on that, and there's other things happening. 16. Q: What is the genre you hate the most? A: Sci-fi and nonfiction. 17.
