"Cmon, Yarrowkit! It'll be fun! Or are you boring like Batkit?" Earlkit squealed at Yarrowkit. 'Maybe Earlkit is just resistant to heat..' Yarrowkit thought. Earlkit's fur was slick and thin unlike his. Yarrowkit felt like he would melt with every step he took. "Hey! I'm not boring! Earlkit, you're wrong!" Batkit shouted across the nursery, nestled next to their mother, Goldenhiss. Their thin fur (like Earlkit's) made Yarrowkit feel as if he was the most unlucky cat ever. Drops of dew landed on Batkit's nose as he groomed his fur, shaking the droplets off, Batkit got up only to crash into Earlkit. "Hey! Get off of me you big lump of fur!" Earlkit hissed at the shrinking jet-black tom. Maybe it wasn't a good idea to crash into Earlkit.. "Bathtime, kits." Goldenhiss meowed. Normally, the kits would scream and yowl while running away, but in heat like this, they were so relieved to cool down from the sun. "Okay!" Earlkit purred, pushing past Batkit to come to her mother for a wash. She sticked out her tongue at both at the kits as if to say Blehhh! I get a bath first and you have to suffer while I'm getting a bath and I'm so dumb and stuff! At least that's what Yarrowkit thought of. "She's so mean!" Batkit whimpered as he rested near some leaves. The fresh dew that landed on his nose earlier made Batkit lay on his back. "Woah! Look!" Earlkit yowled at a bug near her paws. Batkit ran to the closest corner and hid from it. "Pfft, that's a ladybug, Batkit. It can't hurt you." Yarrowkit said, though he wasn't sure for himself. Maybe it was poisonous, and he'd die today and he will never become an apprentice ever! Yarrowkit thought for awhile before running to the same corner Batkit was in. "You guys look so funny right now! I bet even a flower pedal can scare you!" Earlkit scoffed as she got up from her bath, brushing her tail on Batkit's chin to mock him. "Hmpf! I bet if we were dying, you'd just laugh and brush it off like it's no big deal!" Batkit meowed at Earlkit with flames in his eyes. "Haha! As an older sister, I would never let my younger brothers drown so pathetically, I'd be so embarrassed!" Earlkit half-joked. As if the world had cracked, a ear-splitting yowl echoed across the camp. 'It's time!' Yarrowkit thought as he padded down through camp, ready for the meeting that would change his life forever. ==============================================

Characters: Yarrowkit: Long-furred tom who has a black and brown pelt, and dark-brown stripes on his rear and a mint-colored underbelly with huge furred mane and tail. Goldenhiss: Huge Long-furred She-cat with a golden pelt and flowers in her mane. Batkit: Short-furred Jet-black Pelted tabby tom with gray stripes on his back and tail with his left ear being fully white. Earlkit: Short-furred dusty gray She-cat with a fully white underbelly with brittle markings all over her pelt.
