The incident caused radiation to rapidly spread, and it rapidly changed the dna of anyone caught in the blast. Leyton, our protagonist was caught in the blast and was barely alive when his brother Stephan found him. The only way to keep him alive was to transfer Stephan's conscious into Leyton's heart, thus making him "immortal" at the cost of Stephan's own health, but Leyton was unaware of his condition, that is until he's met by an ex-government officer.
