The news of our kiss spread quickly. Like really quickly. Rumors that we were going to get married once we graduated sprea’d around the castle like wildfire, notes were passed to me during transfiguration asking how it felt like dating an “actual vampire” ‘Please don’t tell me that what I’ve heard from the first years is true’ Luna signed as she slammed The Art of Time Travel onto the table. We’ve read it about 300 times already but we already covered all the books about time traveling in the library. ‘What? That I kissed Snape?’ ‘What do you think I mean?’ I groaned as I let my head drop onto the table with a satisfying thud. ‘It was a game, Luna. Nothing serious ‘Inka, you do realize that you possibly changed the entire course of history, right? Who knows what could happen now? Maybe Snape would never killed Dumbledore—’ I held Luna’s wrist suddenly, stopping her from finishing her sentence. ‘Well, that’s a good thing, isn’t it?’ She sighed as she gently brushed my hand off her wrist. ‘Well, I guess.’ ‘Then stop worrying. Everything’s going to be fine. Why are you even panicking in the first place? You never panic.’ ‘I don’t know. I haven’t been feeling like myself lately, I threw up this morning and I keep feeling tired. Even after a full eight hours of sleep.’ She gave a small smile then added, ‘But I suppose it’ll go away. It always does.’ ‘But it hasn’t’ I signed aggressively, ‘This has been going on for weeks and it’s not stopping. I don’t think it will ever stop unless you go to Madame Pomfrey.’ ‘Fine, Luna sighed, ‘I’ll go to her after dinner’ ‘No. You’re going right now no matter what you say. I cannot keep watching you be like this. Even for a few more hours I grabbed her wrist and dragged her out of the library with surprising strength even I didn’t know I had. ‘Go,’ I signed once we reached the exit of the library, ‘I’ll continue our research. I’m sure I’ll find something’ Luna hesitated, her eyes darting back and forth between me and the hallway that led to the Hospital Wing. I could tell she was trying to come up with an excuse, a reason to stay—maybe even pretend she was fine. But something in my expression must’ve gotten through, because she nodded slowly and mouthed, “Okay.” Watching Luna’s silhouette disappear into the hallway, I started walking back towards our book-covered table, only to find someone else already sitting there. A girl. Vibrant red hair, green eyes that brought you back to fresh wet grass, round nose. She was smiling, waving her hands as she singled me to come closer. ‘So, your Inka Granger’ She signed excitedly as if I was her celebrity crush. ‘Yes,’ I signed back, sliding into a chair across her which made the girl smile more. I didn’t know if I looked like I was welcoming or grouchy by my expression, but I didn’t care. I just wanted her gone so I could do the research. ‘Great!’ The girl signed as she looked me deep into the eyes, ‘Jack has said a lot about you!’ Great, it was probably about how pathetic I am crying for no apparent reason. I already cried twice in front of him without a proper explanation. ‘What has he said about me?’ I signed, now generally curious. ‘Well, he says he likes your hair,’ The girl smirked as her hands stumbled a little, ‘and your eyes. He says your eyes reminded him of chocolate and brown sugar’ I stared at Lily for a long time, unsure if she was telling the truth. Chocolate and brown sugar? Jack would never say that. My face burned as if it was inside a fire and I could practically feel the steam coming out of my forehead. Oh Inka, you look so stupid now. ‘You’re blushing’ The girl observed. ‘No, I’m not… It’s just… really hot in here’ ‘Sure. I’m Lily Evans, by the way. Nice talking to you’ She held out her hand and quickly shook mine. Then, she ran to talk to some curly-haired Gryffindor sixth year. I stared at the nearest book, not reading a single word. Why would Jack say my eyes reminded him of chocolate and brown sugar? My eyes didn’t even resemble brown sugar. Now thinking about it, I don’t even like brown sugar. No matter what it was in. I think I remember having an allergic reaction to it once… Suddenly, I felt a tap on my shoulder. Figuring it was Luna back from the hospital wing, I looked up. Instead, it was a pale, blonde boy with stormy grey eyes. Draco Malfoy.
Sorry I haven’t been writing in a while; my teachers keep on giving me so much homework.
