⠀⠀⠀⠀I climbed up the old staircase, headed for the roof, the last place I had seen the sn^pper. My right arm burned, but I took no notice of it. I would live. ⠀⠀⠀⠀I would catch this sn^pper. Gripping the shield tighter, I felt a b^llet bounce off it, coming from a room down the hall. I quickly knelt, holding up the shield for protection. ⠀⠀⠀⠀There had to be so way for me to gain the upper hand. The sn^pper had no shield, but I had no weapon. What was I going to do? ⠀⠀⠀⠀Glancing to my right, I spotted an empty doorway leading into a dark room. Creeping behind my shield, I dove into the room. Feeling along the wall across from the door, I found the old window and smashed it with the shield. The dim daylight revealed what looked like an old office, files still lying on the desk. ⠀⠀⠀⠀A b^llet hit the wall behind me, and I lifted the shield. The sn^pper stood in the doorway, g^n aimed at me. I acted fast, throwing the shield at him and diving under the gap in the desk. I heard the shield hit home as I slid past the sn^pper. My shield bounced off the wall and flew back into my hands. I wrenched the g^n from the sn^pper's hands and held it to his head. ⠀⠀⠀⠀"Impressive, Ms. Rogers," said Red Skull as he floated into view. ⠀⠀⠀⠀I slowly kept the g^n trained on the sn^pper as I picked up my shield. I used it to knock the sn^pper unconscious, then pointed the g^n at Red Skull. ⠀⠀⠀⠀"Where is my father?" I asked, keeping my voice level, even though I was out of breath. "Tell me where he is, or I'll use this." ⠀⠀⠀⠀"There is no need, Ms. Rogers," he said in a cool tone. "Sadly, I still have a need for Captain Rogers, so I cannot give him back." ⠀⠀⠀⠀"You leave me no choice," I said, and without hesitation, fired the g^n. It was loud, echoing off the walls, and I watched Red Skull fall to the ground. Stepping forward, I kicked his leg, making sure he was d^ad. As I knelt to get a better look, I noticed his odd face, the red skin with no noise. But it was off-centered on his face, crooked, so that his eyes were one inch too far to the right. I reached out, and his face slid at my touch. With a yank, I pulled off the mask, revealing an ordinary man underneath. ⠀⠀⠀⠀"You are not the Red Skull," I whispered to the c^rpse. "You tricked me and Dad." ⠀⠀⠀⠀The sn^pper was waking up, groaning as he rose to his knees. ⠀⠀⠀⠀"Where is Captain Rogers?" I asked him, g^n pointed at his head. He only grinned madly at me. "I will use this." ⠀⠀⠀⠀Lifting his hands, his grin widened as he held up a small black remote. "No need." ⠀⠀⠀⠀With one click, the bottom floor of the building exploded.
