In an alternate 1979, a Soviet-Syrian group named the "Eurasian Organization Against Butterflies" was started by a Russian theoretical physicist and his friend, the maid of a rich American family who fled to Syria due to the older sibling taking a little bit too much interest in the maid. The organization vows to protect children from butterflies, especially monarchs, because according to the physicist, "Butterflies are surprisingly dangerous to children. The monarch butterfly is dangerous if eaten, and other species can also endanger children in less subtler ways. Children could chase butterflies into traffic or off a cliff, or worse, the child could open his or her mouth in awe, and the butterfly could fly down their windpipe and make them choke to death". Today, their manifesto can be simplified using a section of a chapter in one of James Breakwell's books, titled, "How to Save Your Child from Ostrich Attacks, Accidental Time Travel, and Anything Else that Might Happen on an Average Tuesday" (it's in the butterfly section of Chapter 2). Their anthem is an anti-butterfly parody of "Fly High, SAM" a Soviet-Syrian friendship song, and their motto is, "After creating the earth on the seventh day, God rested. During that rest, Satan snuck in and created geese."
