Here's my entry for Mache, a ref for his human version! *Forgets rim light exists* I think I did pretty well redesigning bro to be a human ... favorite part is the cape, it makes for a really coolsilhouette. (His sword with the tassel is kind of like the lantern tail, the thingies on the right side of the face are the cloth thingies with the diamonds, and the cat ears are jade earrings. The lantern symbolism is in the dark thingy on his glove and also as earrings if you look closely.) He's probably going to be a very tragic villain. (TW: death, injury.) His backstory is that he was the apprentice of a very famous potionmaker named Egret, and though Egret was well loved by the people, she had created powerful enemies, specifically this organization called the Opal. Now, Mache and Egret were tending to their apothecary, and Egret headed to deeper in the shop, probably for her lab. Suddenly the door flung open and a sharp blow hit Mache. "Where is your Master?" the agent growled. "She ... she went back in the shop ..." Mache says, terrified. The agent leaves, but returns later, agitated. His eyes narrow in anger and he grabs Mache, saying, "You will divulge her location immediately!" Mache refuses to give up the secrets of Egret's lab, until the agent begins pressing his face into the iron-hot cauldron in which Mache's half-finished concoction boiled sluggishly. At this, he finally tells the Agent about the panel behind the bookshelf. Delusional, Mache can barely remember anything that happens ... The Agent of the Opal had killed Mache's mentor. Yet the secret he had been tasked to extract was nowhere to be found. He scoured the entire lab, with no luck. But the Apprentice ... perhaps Egret had told him ... The Agent seizes the back of Mache's cloak, a wave of revulsion passing over him as he notices the boy's burned face, one eye squinting and the other swollen and wide. This was his fault ... perhaps, after the Opal finally attained Egret's guarded power, he could convince them to heal the Apprentice ... that is, if he cooperated.

He has power, magic, influence over those who burned and hurt him ... but ... is that what he really wants? No. Egret will be gone forever. And that little boy, before everything ... he's gone too.
