Age 3–4: •Early signs of CIPA appear. One day, Odious badly injures his hand while playing near a broken window and doesn’t cry or react. His mother panics, realizing something is wrong. •After several hospital visits and confusion, doctors diagnose him with "a curse from god" •His mother becomes extremely protective, often overwhelmed but trying to keep him safe. Age 6: •His mother passes away. The cause she got ill and got an infection but her absence leaves a deep void in the family •Marlene, the eldest sister, steps up as caregiver, especially toward Odious and Seraphina. Age 9: •Leonel, his older brother, leaves home after earning a full-ride scholarship. •Odious sees him as a hero but also begins to feel isolated as more siblings leave. Age 11–12: •Marlene marries and moves away to raise her own family. She still visits when she can and sends letters, always looking out for Odious and Seraphina. Age 13: •Seraphina leaves to join Le Cirque, working under the Spade. •She sends word back when possible, but Odious feels her absence deeply. They were very close. •Odious applies for a small medical internship or assistant job at a local clinic but is rejected after the clinic finds out about his condition. •This moment leaves a scar. not physical, but emotional. He begins to feel that no one will take him seriously because of his disorder. Age 17: •Against the odds, Odious applies to medical school. •Knowing his condition would disqualify him, he lies on his application, leaving out the "curse" •Despite barely scraping through the interview process and constant fear of being discovered, he gets accepted. •Tuition, supplies, and housing quickly bury him in crushing debt. Age 18–19: •Drowning in financial stress and on the edge of being expelled, Odious is approached by The Spade •The Spade offers to pay off everything. tuition, housing, debt. with one condition: Odious must work with him. •Feeling he has no choice, Odious accepts. •He begins working as the doctor for Le Cirque de la Rose, entering a world of secrets, illusions, and unspoken debts.
