Me explaining the books I read, but very poorly The Way of Kings: This guy realizes that he can inhale lightning because he lost his brother and he decides to save some people, girl tries to steal a magical bracelet from the smartest woman on earth, some other guy hallucinates during thunderstorms and it makes other people uncomfortable. Words of Radiance: Girl steals this guys boots, and he holds a grudge against her for it until they had to hide from rain in a cave together. The girl is adopted by her fake uncle and draws pictures that come to life, then some other guy learns that people can inhale lightning and goes on a quest for an unusually round rock that is actually a portal. Some other guy falls out of the sky because depression. Oathbringer: A bunch of people try to live in a deserted tower on a mountain but they don't really like it because there are weird shadow creatures living in it. This guy starts remembering that he had a wife, then his niece comes back to life mysteriously. Other guy starts giving people powers, some people go on a quest to save a city and fail. Then guy walks into a battle armed with a book and wins. Edgedancer: Lost child decides to steal some pancakes from a very cool city, and it turns out a bad guy is there as well. She defeats the bad guy with hugs. Yumi and the Nightmare Painter: An exterminator and an artist switch bodies and fall in love, the pests turn out to be actual people, and then Yumi defeats an all powerful machine by stacking rocks at it. Tress of the Emerald Sea: A girl who collects cups wants to save her boyfriend from an evil sorceress, but it turns out he was trapped in the body of a rat. They get to the tower sorceress's tower by using the delusional cabinboy. Mistborn: A girl finds out that she can get superpowers by eating metal, and a guy trains her to use her metal powers. She also has to pretend to be a rich girl and go to dinner parties. Her mentor gets slapped in the face by the king and is defeated. She defeats the king by throwing all of his jewelry out the window. Chronicles of Never After (don't judge me okay): A girl falls into a fairytale world and finds out she is actually sleeping beauty, but her aunt kidnapped her and brought her to the human world so that she wouldn't be harmed, then she goes hunting for cheeseburgers. Artemis Fowl: A 12 y/o boy kidnaps a fairy because he wants to take all of her money, but all of the other fairies come to save her and trap him in a time bubble. They try to obliviate him and take back the money, but it doesn't work because he was asleep the whole time. The Arctic Incident: The kid escapes from school because he wants to got to Russia and save his father who left with the milk (but it was actually soda). He gets sidetracked because the fairies kidnapped him and he had to work with them in order to get their help in saving his father. They decide they can work together, and they defeat the bad guy in the end. Hunger Games: This girl falls in love with a guy because he threw a loaf of bread at her a couple years ago. She doesn't think that she is actually in love, but she has to pretend that she is so that people will give her gifts. She gets stuck in an arena and wins by working with the boy and pretending to eat poisonous berries. Catching Fire: The girl has to pretend like she is in love with the boy because the president will get mad at her if she doesn't, then she has to go back to the arena, and teams up with a bunch of people to win. They realize that the arena is a clock by listening to the one lady that they all thought was insane. She wins by shooting an arrow at the sky. She finally gets out of the game, but it turns out that her house is gone. Mockingjay: There's a rebellion going on and they need the girl to make people want to rebel even more. Her boyfriend was kidnapped and his memories were altered so that he didn't love her anymore. She has to go the the Capitol and do things, but then one of the best characters is unalived by teenage mutant lizard people. Her sister also unalives, but the rebellion ends so the people are okay. mostly. Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes: This guy falls in love with a musician, and tries everything to help her stay alive, but gets exiled for it. He goes to the girl's hometown, but he's secretly gay for his best friend. Then he betrays them both and marries a rich woman that he never really liked. Sunrise on teh Reaping: This kid is forced to go to fight other people because he wanted to protect his girlfriend, and it was also his girlfriend. He teams up with a whole bunch of other kids so that they can win the games, and secretly plans on destroying the arena with the help of the guy who runs the potato stand and his son. He fails and becomes depressed until his apprentice gets him a pet duck.
