The whale is called a Pauslampu, and when it dies, it turns into a planet The characters are Anna and Beji Annas father researched these whale gods and always wanted to see it turn into a planet and the process, but he is killed after finding out some dark secrets Anna wants to continue her dads research, and is extremely excited to witness what her dad could not Beji is along for the ride, and her enthusiasm and passion helps him with recovery after he was abused by the townspeople
