Hello, I have returned with yet another terrible story for y'all to read (i say y'all like more than one person viewed my first story). i was definitely going to say something here but i forgot what so have fun. oh yeah i was gonna say you might not wanna read this if you're like a little kid cause there's a *little* bit of material that may be concerning if you're like under 10. thank you for reading. -kath (aka m0nsterunderthebed) ------------------------------------------------------------------------- From the moment Cece saw her new school, she hated it. As the limo door slammed behind her and her only escape roared away, she stared in disgust at the cracked stone towers and the gargoyles lining the balcony. What did this place think it was, low-budget Hogwarts? Her heels sank into the cracked asphalt as she walked - or tripped, considering the footwear choice she was actively regretting - toward the sidewalk. Her hair, annoyingly frizzy from the humidity, blew in her face. She couldn't see the people in front of her until she ran straight into them. "Watch where you're going!" She berated, wiping her skirt for any dirt that might have gotten on it. Really? It was designer! She pushed the curtain of frizz out of her face and standing in front of her was two girls. "Who are you?" Cece asked disdainfully. "Your tour guides," One of the girls responded. She had star-shaped freckles and two Dutch braids with purple and teal highlights and little wispy bits coming out from the front. A waste of cute hair on someone so poor, Cece thought. The other girl bowed, her red bangs falling over her pale face. "Name's Red," She said in a gravelly voice. "n' this is Miss Lucy," "I'm not going to call some overexcited nerd 'Miss'," Cece objected. She pushed her way past a seething Red and started stomping toward the school. Lucy muttered something under her breath that sounded suspiciously like it included the word 'die', and Cece immediately tripped on a pebble. "What did you just do?" She glared at Lucy. Lucy grinned. "Why, little old me? What could I do?" She gave a little curtsy for emphasis. "Y-you said something and made me trip!" "Better get used to it, if you're gonna such a pain in t-" Red started to interject, but was interrupted by Lucy. "Roxxanne, this is a school environment!" "Don't you government name me!" "What the heck is going on here?" Cece interrupted, upset not to be the subject of the argument. Both her tour guides turned to her and glared. "What is going on is that you're quite a bit insufferable, and unfortunately for you, you were assigned Red as both your guide and your roommate. Best of luck!" Lucy said sweetly. "Come on, amateur," Red growled before stalking toward the school. Lucy walked in front of her, due to being an annoyingly fast walker, as Cece was quickly discovering as she tried to keep up in six-inch heels. Lucy started humming and flowers started to bloom in her tracks. Strange. Really, if Cece had to name an adjective for it, it would be freakish, but she got the feeling Lucy could do a whole lot worse than trip her if she said that, so she kept quiet. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Cece's new dorm had a gaping chasm in the center. Not even a metaphorical chasm, how the room felt empty without Cece's personal touch. There was a literal ravine between the two sides of the room. A bridge crossed over it, from the blank-walled side waiting for her to decorate, to a messy crimson-walled area that she could only assume was her least favorite roommate, Red (Also her only roommate, but still). An electric guitar with skull stickers leaned against Red's bedframe and a notebook sat atop a desk with two chairs pulled up. "Well, welcome home, princess," Red spat, stomping over the bridge. Cece wondered if it would fall. It might be funny. Karma and all that. Probably a lot of paperwork, though, for whoever did paperwork here. Not that she cared. Lucy tiptoed across after her and sat at the desk. "So, anyways, what kind of magic were we thinking for the show?" "Oh, you guys do magic tricks? That's cute," Cece rolled her eyes as flopped onto her surprisingly soft bed. "Cute that you think that, Celeste DuPont," Lucy said, turning around dramatically in her chair. "But we do real magic,"
"You're insane," Cece said. "Well, then you are too, Miss DuPont," Lucy said. Red smiled, which was scary on its own, considering it seemed that the more that someone here smiled, the weirder things were about to get. "We really do magic, though. Show her, Lucy!" "I feel like a dog," Lucy complained. "We all know you're a cat, honey," Red replied, kissing her on the cheek. Wait, what? "Are you two, like, dating?" "Thank you, captain obvious," Lucy rolled her eyes. "Now, what kind of magic would you like to see?" "Can you summon fire?" Cece asked, feeling rather like a child at the circus or a talent show. She held out her hand, far away from her face, and sang softly under her breath until a ball of flame appeared over her hand. "My apologies, arsonist, you loved me," was the last lyric Cece could hear before Lucy stopped singing and stared at the fire for a moment before singing a different song and a tiny stream of water extinguished it. "Wow," "Anyways, love, back to our conversation. What kind of magic are we doing at the show?" Lucy said abruptly, turning back to Red. "Can we hex Princess over there?" "No." She said firmly, flicking her braids to the back of her head. "Pirates?" "I do have a spell for summoning a chest of gold but there's also a fifty percent chance that it'll summon a flesh-eating monster to attack everyone, so..." The witch shrugged. "What in the world is going on at this place?" Cece asked. Flesh eating monster? "Honestly, I do not know," Lucy admitted. "But at some point in all of these magical whatever-the-heck-they-ares' lives, they've gotten sent to this school so that they could learn about their powers," "But I'm not one of those freaks!" Cece protested. "I'm normal!" Red laughed. "If you were normal, them gargoyles outside would've been screaming our ears off right now. Really annoying when that happens," "Terribly so," Lucy agreed. "Oh, by the way, Miss DuPont, you are sleeping in the same dorm as a vampire, so good luck!" "What?!" Cece demanded. Lucy giggled - which, by the way, was horrifying to hear because she sounded like a haunted doll in a movie - and left the room. Red turned around menacingly in her chair (What's with these people and overdramatically turning, Cece thought) and glared at her. "First things first, if you keep insulting my girlfriend, you'll find out real quick that I don't need no spells to make someone disappear," She said, her voice low. "Is that a threat? 'Cause I could go up to your principal and tell her you're trying to threaten the most important person who's ever gone to this rat school," Cece retorted. "She don't care," Red said, turning back around and scribbling something in the notebook. Less than two hours into going to her new school, Cece didn't know whether or not to be scared for her life. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- If y'all read all that, thank you.
