Chapter 3 Betty found Cami halfway down her block, her pixie cut hair glowing in the morning sun. Betty's own brown flowing locks blowing in the wind. Betty had to run to catch up with her. Out of breath, she slowed down to a walk, now along side Cami. "Hey girl. How ya been?" Cami turned toward her. She smiled. "Hi Betty! You ready for the math quiz?" Betty sighed dramatically and put a hand over her forehead. "I don't know how'll I'll ever survive." Cami giggled. So did Betty. Mrs. Dalton's math quiz was never easy, and rumor had it that the quiz got harder each year. So, if Betty hardly managed a A- last year, she was most likely looking at a B+ this year. If she was lucky, that is. "So, if I sit with Melisa at lunch today, is that okay?" Betty nodded. Everyone had been shipping Cami and Melisa for three months now. Whenever Cami wasn't with Betty, she was always with Melisa. Betty wasn't bothered with it. Cami was allowed to hang out with whoever she wanted. But, at the same time, she did miss Cami when she was with other people. Cami had come out over a year ago, and her brother still wouldn't talk to her. Her parents had excepted her a while back, but for a while, she was living a tough life. As they turned onto 4th Street, Betty thought about how, if Cami hadn't come out, she wouldn't have had to... Betty stopped the thought before she went down a rabbit hole she needed to avoid. At all costs. For as long as possible. End of Chapter 3
