~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~July is Disability Pride Month! Just wanted to make a little project to showcase that. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ This is very important to me, and I haven't even heard about the month until today! (July 5th, 2025) (Also, of course I knew July existed, just the celebration part) Therefore, I wanted to make a little project to showcase it. I would love it if some of you divergent people share your stories, and I could paste them here if you like. It's important to represent all different types of people. I have put together a list of books at the bottom of the {verrrry long} description, check it out! Now, this is nothing against neurologically or physically "typical" people. You all are important too! This is just to showcase people who are different than you, and have often not gotten a say. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ This section is for stories of real people's experiences as a divergent person. ~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I love books, so here is a list of some middle-grade books that highlight characters with disabilities. -Marshmallow and Jordan by Alina Chau -The Miscalculations of Lighting Girl by Stacy McAnutly -Good Different by Meg Eden Kuyatt -A Kind of Spark by Elle McNicoll I only included books I have read,* because I wanted to only use books I know are true. *except Good Different, which I know is good because I know someone who read it, and I'm not done with The Miscalculations of Lightning Girl. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
