I recommend using TurboWarp for this project, or it will get a little laggy. --------------------------------------------------------------- Move mouse to the far left of the screen to use the variables and you can use the Arrow keys to switch costumes.
Boids is an artificial life program developed by Craig Reynolds in 1986 that simulates the flocking, herding, or schooling behavior of birds and other group-moving animals. The name stands for "bird-oid object". Complex, organic-looking group movement emerges when every individual agent follows three simple rules within a limited visual range: • Separation: Steer away from nearby boids to avoid crowding or collisions. • Alignment: Steer in the same direction and match the velocity (speed) of nearby neighbors. • Cohesion: Steer toward the average center of mass (position) of local flock mates. • Top Speed: Maximum Speed. • Resolve: The boids originally move away from the mouse-pointer at 0.2. But all the way at 1, the boids don't react at all to the mouse-pointer. But if you take it down all the way to 0.01, then the boids significantly repel the mouse-pointer as to a red magnet pointing towards another red magnet. • Range: The higher this variable goes, the more grouped together the boids will be.
