With this tool, improving your speedrun time will become easier! In the options menu, you can set your mode to record, race, race & rec, or none. Record: With this option, when you start playing the game, your player data will be added to a list to replay later. Press "P" to end and save your recording. Saving your recording will overwrite the previous. Recordings will automatically save when the timer stops after getting the ultimate power bolt. In the options menu, you can set the Frames Recorded Per Second. This will record a certain number of frames per second to the list. I recommend keeping it at 30, but lower numbers will make the list data smaller, not that it effects the speed it will replay at. Race: Replays the ghost data that is in the recorded list. Race it. After the ghost finishes going through the data, it will disappear. Race & Rec: Lets you start recording data and race at the same time. Useful if you want to race someone and once you beat them, have the data you just collected saved over the last recording for someone else to play your record. None: Does nothing. Normal speedrun. The other things in the options menu were already there from the autosplitter by @4Mahoney21. Once you have you ghost data saved into the list, you can remix and share the project so someone else can use that data to race against and improve. Or, if you don't want to share the project, you can press "O" then go into the project. When inside, right click the list that has appeared to import and export the data from it. Press "O" again to hide it. This should make improving your time easier as instead of having to go to another tab and check out what other people were doing to get a fast time; you can see it onscreen with you, making it more convenient and practical.
Please report any bugs with the recording system in the comments. This is just an idea I had to help improve runs. Also, there is a small sample recording inside already. You can overwrite it though. @4Mahoney21 for the autosplitter. for the original game. https://www.speedrun.com/super_mario_for_scratch_4 -Update History- v1.0.0 July 7, 2025: Released v1.0.1 August 6, 2025: Importing bugfix.
