(Here we go and say it with me IT’S TV… wait wrong game but it sure is Time to info dump. Feel free to ask for clarification, I’m not the best at describing things.) Leo, in his time hanging out with Arashi, learns about the magic of this world. Leo learns that every different soul trait can either heal or boost others in addition to the soul magic, and he learns what souls can do. Patience can heal and is able farm barriers of energy, bravery can boost others and would take to long to describe the soul magic here so if you want to know ask me, Integrity can heal and can detect magic, perseverance can boost and whatever “elemental magic” they have is always active around them to some extent, justice is the best boosting other and can detect the souls of others, kindness is the best at healing. It is the only thing that Arashi will say about it, with the implication being that it can only heal, and will/determination can both heal and boost, and Arashi is evasive with what the soul magic is. The souls themselves can have more than one trait, with having two being uncommon, and only four humans with three. Humans possessing multiple traits giving them access to all the Soul Magic associated with those traits, as well as one unique “elemental magic” per soul trait. There are also “minor” soul traits which do not have a soul magic, but do give an “elemental magic.” Also over the two months, Leo observes that while Arashi and Kōri care for each other, they spend a lot of time avoiding each other, with Leo only finding the two of them in the same spot 5 times over the two months. Another is Arashi’s relationship with Kanako; it is very clear that he cares for her a lot, but if Arashi is questioned about how he feels about Kanako, he either evades the question or doesn’t respond but he treats Kanako with more care than most and seems to be the most genuine when he is around her. Arashi seems to like melody despite how she thinks of him. He is willing to help her with a lot of things (except explaining the routes and timelines, the one thing that is causing the tension) and Arashi genuinely seems to appreciate her advice even if it is shouted at him. Arashi and Sunny seem to be good friends with Arashi often being at her place presumably having a good time, Arashi is one of the few people who can make jokes at her expense and not have her not be able to come up with a comeback. Arashi also disappears randomly without explanation and when he comes back he often saying thing to himself under his breath. Kōri spends a lot of time just doing his own thing, not going out of his way to interact with anyone, but will stick around if talked to. Leo can sort of feel that Kōri doesn’t have a lot of connections to anyone and doesn’t feel the need to and/or want to make any. If Leo asks Kōri about any secrets that Arashi may be hiding, Kōri responds simply with “It is not my place to share. If there is anything that may be hidden, ask Arashi, he will respond mostly honestly,” and refuses to say anything more. Kōri is very hard to read how he feels about others, outwardly not showing a lot of emotion. But what can be gleaned is that he spends more time with Melody helping her with magic. He is only around Kanako and Sunny when Arashi is around he is willing to make jokes and small talk with them but doesn’t go out of his way to talk with them. At first Melody is a bit uncomfortable being around Onyx and a bit rude and aggressive at points but she eventually becomes more shy than anything, still a bit snappy but only speaking when spoken to and often needing encouragement from others to even start speaking. She only seems truly comfortable with Kanako where Melody is a lot more expressive and genuine. Of course Onyx only sees snippets of this side of Melody who shuts down when he makes himself known. Melody also gives Kanako ballet lessons and Melody really seems to enjoy giving them. Melody also practices on her own time. Onyx will find out when and where melody practices and gives Kanako lessons during one of his many conversations with Sunny. If Onyx would watch melody practice he would soon find out that melody is very gentle when teaching Kanako ballet pointing out Kanako’s mistakes but never is mean about it, explaining how to do things better but never giving Kanako too much information it overwhelms her, and provides honest, constructive feedback when asked for it. Melody is also very good at it as well. Being good at memorizing the positions and moving through them gracefully and with incredible precision. Onyx almost never finds melody by herself and is usually with Kanako and occasionally is with Sunny or one of the other fallen humans (more on them later) and if Onyx finds melody by herself she doesn’t say much trying to leave as soon as possible and being generally uncomfortable speaking to him. as the months progress melody’s dislike of Arashi is not a new thing but the reveal that he’s has been lying to her probably didn’t help, although when Melody is talking about her dislike of Arashi it is 1 never around Kanako, and 2 she seems more mad that Arashi is lying to Kanako then she is about him lying to her, also to an extent Melody seems to respect Arashi because she only speaks bad about his character and respects the amount of good he has done. Melody’s feelings about kōri are not the clearest but it seems that she looks up to him to some extent hoping to reach his level of mastery over magic. Sunny on the other hand seems to be a close friend that she trusts a lot but there is a level of awkwardness that occasionally shows in melody when they are talking to each other. This feeling probably comes from the fact that they are related and melody is a generation older but about the same age as Sunny (dying and coming back to life when you have an irresponsible older brother causes some weird things to happen.) Also over the two months it becomes clear that Melody’s soul trait is integrity and some minor trait. This is because she uses fire and ice magic occasionally. Sunny is the one Onyx doesn’t see as much as the others. This is mostly because Sunny is busy running her restaurant with Dina (who if you don’t remember is the bar owner in the dunes in UTY) and she spends most of her other time at school or Taking care of her younger brother Clover (man I wonder who this character is and how they are connected to UTY.) Something Onyx and Leo that they learn rather quickly about Sunny is that they are gender fluid. Over the limited time that Onyx spends with Sunny, Onyx observes that Sunny has a lot of energy and most of the time is quite nice and helpful, if a bit snarky at points. This lasts up until someone makes her angry, usually this is because she is dealing with unreasonable customers or someone is mean to Clover. If this happens she gets very shouty and is not afraid to speak her mind whatever might be on it with no filter. Sunny likes having Onyx and Leo around and is quite happy to make food for them with the only cost being Sunny marking dumb comments about their relationship Ie. “Just kiss already.” Sunny and Kanako seem to be good friends with Sunny making comments on the love triangle Kanako has found herself in but never pushing her to make any decision. Kanako takes this in stride by not saying anything back. Sunny respects Arashi and spends a lot of time with him talking about “stuff and things” as she says if questioned about what they talk about. Sunny seems to be the main contributor to the get Melody better at talking to others group. often being the one to encourage her to go do things and often as she can visit melody when she is practicing ballet or teaching Kanako. Despite Melody being Sunny’s aunt Sunny doesn’t care and does not have any sort of awkwardness interacting with Melody and in her words if questions about it “she is more of a sister then a aunt to me we are the same age so why should I treat her differently.” At some point sunny would mention that the are a soul of kindness and regularly demonstrates use of fire magic.
