“In four years. It’s now the 26th of June 1998. By the 26th of June 2002, The Coldplay, or the band, whatever they’re called then, will be known, just all over man. We’re gonna be so big.” -Chris Martin, 1998. 25 years today since the release of Parachutes, Coldplay’s debut album. In those 25 years, the band has gone on to become one of the world’s most popular. Now, I’m going to stop being all technical and sounding like a news article, but this is a big milestone in my opinion. I may be relatively new to the Coldplay fandom, heck, I joined not too long before MOON MUSiC came out! But I know that these four, well, five guys are awesome at their work and just awesome people overall. I hope that future generations have a love for this band just like I do, and like many others do. To celebrate, I was going to draw some characters from MYLO, but instead I decided to draw the man that started it all: Chris Martin. It’s 10 PM, don’t come after me for not drawing the whole band lol. In the background I’ve put a lyric from a song from each of the band’s 10 albums (each credited in the notes and credits box). Enjoy this drawing (and the other cool photo I found on their YT channel), and 25+ years of Coldplay!!
