As promised, the next day, Draco went over to the library. He wasn’t one for healing magic, but he had to at least /try/. Apple was injured, and so he’d heal it. Simple. There was one problem… He didn’t think healing magic would work on anyone but witches and wizards. Muggles and mudbloods being an exception, of course. Alas, as he entered the library, he was greeted by a sort of familiar smell of old books— his manor had a small library in which hardly anyone knew about, he’d used it quite a bit to get away from everyone, but hasn’t gone in years —and the sight of a ravenette girl with peculiar green eyes, and someone who shared the same hair, but the latter resembled coffee. Either way, he bounded softly over to the section labeled ‘Cures and Restoration’. Obviously he found a book, but he got lost in reading it, and soon enough, finished reading all the yellow pages. Who could blame him, it reminded him of simpler times. Times where- Ah, nevermind. The process of curing Apple was a tedious one, since food magic is a difficult process, almost designed to let people starve. And Draco was using it to undo a bruise, such a…noble gesture. However, after exactly /fourteen/ times, it worked. Not at all surprising, since he was obviously the brightest wizard of his age, and since his heart wasn’t soulless enough to allow Apple to withstand such a fate. And so nothing interesting happened, at the end of the year. Draco fought a troll and lost. He sacrificed Apple in an attempt to save himself, later curing it. He has both self-destructive and selfish tendencies /somehow/. Who’s surprised? First year came to an end, and he met his parents at the train station. They went home, and Draco didn’t tell them about his shortcomings, and therefore Lucius decided he deserved a spot on the quidditch team, and bought many Nimbus 2001s.
