look at it
this project is kinda old, i haven't touched it for a while and this is where i got with it. got about 26-28 fps out of it on my machine, so even better performance than before (~20 fps) but probably not the furthest i can take it. i'd likely have to reprogram the whole engine for that tho. i'm kinda lazy.
