PLEASE READ BELOW!!! -------------------------------------------------------- Major Hurricane Holly was the costliest hurricane in recorded history, with record-breaking stats of: 185 MPH (300 KPH), 898 millibars, $192.49 billion (2025 USD) were lost, and 299 people were killed. Holly affected the Bahamas, Florida, and Louisiana in 6 devastating landfalls. Holly made the most landfalls since Irma of 2017. It started as a low pressure area of the coast of Madagascar. It moved under Africa and into the Atlantic. When near the Lesser Antilles, it became tropical depression 08L. Soon after, it became Tropical Storm Holly. Although not hit directly, Puerto Rico had minimal wind and water damage from the rain bands of Holly, Haiti got rain and flooding, and Cuba had winds of 100 MPH and floodwaters of 3 feet. The Bahamas were hit the hardest, with $110.40 billion lost from homes, hotels, playgrounds, even entire lawns were ripped up from the 4 landfalls made by Holly.
