I wrote too much so here's the first part: A question I get a lot is how I came up with my username, a lot of people think its "ta-da" backwards, but in reality 13 year old me thought it up out of thin air, somehow thinking putting a dash between the word "data" was cool. Funnily enough, 5 years after I created this account, I had a similar thought process when I made my alt account @Auriali, it just popped into the top of my head when I was creating the account and I thought it sounded cool. Pretty much everything I've during my 10 years on this website is just because I thought it'd be cool or fun, from my beginnings making bad games like a remake of The Sims 4 (which still gets comments to this day, help) which was and still is awful, to bad "music videos" for FNAF songs (yes, I am cringe, I'm aware), to bad original animations (you may wince) to eventually (AAAaAAaAaAaaAAa) making bad illustrations and designs. I made logos since 2016 for da-ta, but only took it seriously from maybe 2017 onwards. I'm fully self taught, which I think is obviously compared to much more talented designers on here now. My whole process is just jank on top of more jank, but hey, I guess I did something right, I'm still here 10 years later somehow. In amongst all of this I did a lot of other things, I've had various alt accounts since 2016, from da-ta_test and da-ta_remix to @da-ta2, da-ta3, and da-ta4, with only da-ta2 surviving the great alt account purge. I even had an account called ta_da for a while which I never really used. Then during 2020 I created Auriali as a secret account (I was discovered in a week, I was bad at being secret lol), I left the account to gather dust until I decided to turn it into a meme account, which has spawned a whole lore around the account about it Auriali being essentially all powerful. And of course in 2021 I created her alt account @AuriaIi for aesthetics after someone tried to snipe the account. Another question I get sometimes is why I keep my old projects up, they're cringe, and people will go back and post funny messages mocking them occasionally, why keep them up? In a weird way I think its kinda to honour the weird trajectory of this account, how I kinda tried my hand at a lot of things over time and also to show my growth as a designer too, it feels dishonest at this point to try and erase the past from this account, I guess there's a hint of sentimentality too. I'm no wordsmith, but on the day that my account turns 10 years old, I want to say thanks, that fact you're viewing this project is already more than I can ask for. I never had a plan, I still don't, but yet here we are. Whether you've been here since the start or more recently, thank you for being part the last 10 years. And finally, I want to thank my late grandmother, I used her old laptop after she passed to make this account, without that, da-ta might have never existed. Love you, Grace. As always, that's a secret. - Sean Wallace
This is the part where I thank a lot of people, I've tried to cram in as many folks as I possibly can, but remembering everyone over 10 years is sorta hard. @PERRlN We met when you came back to Scratch under your new account, and actually got to know each other around 2021. You're a really cool guy, your funny, smart, and also compassionate to your fellow human beings. Working on TNC together has been a blast. Seeing your work evolve has also been a treat, I know you're gonna crush it in the design world, because your stuff is top notch. @-Archon- My man Micah, I think we first also in 2020 after I made my return to Scratch, but got to know each other a little later with some of your projects that you made, such as the site that I cannot name but that you made in lieu of being able to use a different one, it was a ton of fun. Since then we hosted the TNC podcast together, which has been awesome, and thank you for keeping my and Perrin on topic, you very much keep us sane. I'm excited for your latest project that I gave you a hand in recently, of course though, that's a secret. @BurritoDesigns I still remember how we first met, you asked me for a logo for your main account @TacoShark8, as well as a logo for your new account, BurritoDesigns. Since then, you made it your mission to spam and message me most days on my profile without fail, and it was a big pick me up during the pandemic. But your biggest achievement was creating the first Brand Battle, which has grown into a genuinely huge competition since then, now on its 7th iteration! It was a privilege to judge with you back then and right now, thanks for all of your awesome ideas throughout the years. @Apollo- Temi dude, your progression has been insane, starting off as a simple Scratch designer, you made a name for yourself fast as you quickly improved and made some of the best work on this website, and now getting to see you translate that into the real world is such a wonderful thing to see. Proud of you dude, so happy to see you're doing well. @-Gyrox- We met a little later, but got alone pretty quickly, talking about tech and other general things going on that we both enjoy, like EDEN or whatnot. Gotta thank you for pointing me towards new music too like Quadeca or brakence (Vanisher, Horizon Scraper is amazing btw). I also just wanna thank you for all your help, you know what I mean.
