Chapter 20 +<>+<>+<>+ The two of us pause at the top of the staircase, holding hands. I can feel my breath coming quickly, and Bella squeezes my hand to comfort me. I smile gratefully at my twin and we start going down. I mentally tell myself to ‘not trip’ over and over again. It seems to work, considering I make it down without tripping and falling down. I mentally will myself then, to not make eye contact with Logan, nor Teddy. That didn’t work. While me and Bella walked over to the boys, we noticed that Alex, Logan, and Teddy were all talking together, but fell silent when the two of us walked over. I could feel their confusion. The boys were probably wondering which one is which, but I felt Logan and Teddy staring at me. Alex just went over to Bella and hugged her. I smiled, and then wondered how my plan was going to work, with the two boys right in front of me. I could hear Alex asking Bella about her glasses and how he never knew she had glasses. I kind of smirk and just say, sort of softly, “Bet it took you a minute to figure out which one of us was who.” Alex apparently heard me and replies, “Yup,” and the two other boys nod. I just looked at the ground, which then made me mentally freak out. (Why am I shy now?! This is the one time I shouldn’t be shy!) Logan walked over to me, somehow sensing my discomfort and hugged me, which made me blush. Then, Teddy came over right after and joined the ‘hug Jackie club’. When they pulled away, I notice that Bella and Alex went off somewhere, and I look up for once in my life. I bite my lower lip. I know I planned to dance with the two of them separately. But if they are going to be with me this whole time, I won’t be able to! Logan then decided to go somewhere, and I thanked him in my mind. Teddy just nods, and then looks at me. “So,” he says, as a song starts, “you want to dance?” “Um… Yeah,” I reply. He grabs my hand and I blush. He pulls me over to the middle of the dance floor, after all the champions and their da+3s go over. I then mutter something about not knowing how to dance, forgetting about that one time me and Bella pretended to dance in the middle of the attic when we were about four. Either he doesn’t seem to hear, or didn’t know what to say because all he did was smile and lead me into the [dance]. I honestly lost track of anything, and was just following him. After the song ended, he went to go talk to Havi and I ran over to Logan. I tapped his shoulder and he turned around, smiling. “Hey, Jacks.” “Um… Hi.” The two of us stood there in silence, and he kept ruffling his dark blond, curly hair. I played with my dark hazel wavy hair. “So…” He said, breaking the silence. I took my hands out of my hair. “Um… Do you want to dance,” he asks. I just nod. Logan grabs my left hand, making both of us blush and pulls me to the dance floor. [A slow song starts up and the two of us dance, this time with us leading each other.] When the song stops, he walks away and I decide to go look for Emily.
