AUDITIONS DUE OCT 26 Welcome to the ORBITZ casting call for members! My name is Kai and I'm hosting a fully virtual, k-pop inspired, animated girl group looking for passionate creators and team members. Please read everything; there is no TL; DR or exceptions. Info: -ORBITZ is an animated, k-pop inspired global girl group. -Here, you can apply to be a member. Members will sing, rap, and voice act for their animated character. -Members will also pitch their own character design and details (optionally but recommended) and character designers and artists will edit your design or make suggestions. Can I audition? In order to be eligible to audition, you must: -Have completed the applicants form (see notes and credits) -Be able to sing and voice act and be comfortable with your voice being shared publicly on YouTube. -The preferred age range would be 10-18, as this is a youth organized project. -Members must be fluent in English, but accents are welcome. -To be a member, you must be available at least 1-2 hours a week, but normally you will not be committing this much time. This is just a precaution. -You must be comfortable singing and/or rapping. Both is preferred but not required. -You must have clear audio (phone mic is fine but be loud and avoid background noise.) -Communication-wise, you must reply within two weeks if you are contacted for callbacks. -We may later use Google Forms or email for organizing. If you are not comfortable with using these means of communication, it is alright, but please let me know. -You must be kind, cooperative and open to collaborate with others. If you are not accepted, you must not guilt trip or be rude. How to audition: If you meet the above requirements, you can follow these steps to audition: -Remix this project to audition. -Inside the project, include: a clear recording of your singing. Please have at least 3 different examples, but the more the better. You may pick whatever song you like for all of your examples, but I recommend showing versatility: maybe one song that is smooth and melodic to show off your vocal range, but another song that has rap to show your other talents.) Each example does not need to be the full song. A backing track or just a metronome is optional but not required, if this helps you. -In addition to your singing recordings, include one to three clear examples of your regular speaking voice. This job requires not just singing but also regular speaking, so we can build your characters personality in other videos instead of just the songs. -You can also include a character pitch in your project. If you are accepted, you will make a much more detailed persona pitch, but for now, you may include: a stage name (I can help provide suggestions!), a sketch of your character, their potential role in the group, and other details such as age or ethnicity (these do not need to be the same as yours but please be realistic about it.) This is not required and does not improve your chances of being accepted. It is simply an option of something you could add. -You must also answer the following questions in the instructions part of your project: 1. If you did not pitch a character yet, or if you have not picked a stage name, what can I call you until then? Otherwise, state your stage names again. 2. What is your time zone? How many hours per week can you help? 3. Why do you want to join ORBITZ? (You do not need to write a paragraph, just a few quick reasons <3) 4. Role preference--please state whether you would rather be a singer or rapper, and any other preferences. obvi the characters are animated, but you can still request to be leader, visual, or dancer if you want lol. if you are undecided, don't worry about it yet! 5. Tell me a little bit about yourself! Include hobbies, mbti, age, identity… This does not affect whether or not you are accepted. I just want to get to know you. Tell me some interests, hobbies, and maybe your favorite song! How can I increase my chances? Auditionees who apply to the following are more likely to be accepted, though they are not a requirement: -I really appreciate members who show their personality through their audition. Be confident and fun and show your attitude. -Be active and responsive. The faster you reply, the better! Reply politely and enthusiastically. -Creativity helps! Even if you don't have a persona pitch yet, you can still provide some visuals in your project like a cute moodboard so we get the vibe of your member. -Embrace your uniqueness. The goal for ORBITZ is to be hyper-diverse; embrace your accent, quirks, and personality. -Auditionees with who are fluent in another language are more likely to be accepted. Of course, this is not a requirement so don't let it discourage you, but because diversity is encouraged this can help your audition. If this applies to you, please mention it in your audition. cont. in n&c
If you have not applied, you cannot audition. Please see this project if you have not applied: https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/1214634840 If you are interested in a creative role, like an animator, composer, writer, and more, audition here: https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/1197362516 If you are interested in an operation role, like an editor, audio designer, or assistant manager, audition here: https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/1197366439 You may audition for multiple roles in multiple categories. Next steps: -I will review auditions carefully. This might take a long time, and duration will vary based on the number of auditionees. -If you can no longer fulfill the role you auditioned for, or if anything changes about your audition, let me know as soon as possible. I don't bite <33 -I may ask a follow-up question in your project. Please reply as quickly as you can and answer carefully. -If you are accepted, you will receive a message on your audition remix saying so, with a link to the project that provides details. -If you respond within a week, you will receive a link to a Google Form (yes, I know, a lot of answering questions. Bear with me here!!), be added to the ORBITZ studio, and ultimately receive your first assignments on the team. -You are committing to a complicated project. At any time during the process, you may back out and say you are no longer available to participate. This is strongly discouraged, especially for members, but I will understand. -By joining, you are agreeing to: be kind, respectful, and work as a team; participate in group planning, helping with ideas, recording vocals, and more; completing your assignments properly by deadlines we both agree to; communicate with me and other members of the team. -If you are not accepted, you will not receive a message. If you notice results and next steps are out but you have not been notified, you unfortunately were not accepted. This does not mean you cannot be a part of the team. Later, if I am in need of backups, more writers, or special helpers, members who were not accepted will be notified. If auditions reopen for other roles, you can reapply. -Five members will be chosen regardless of how many members apply. Good luck everybody, and I look forward to hearing your beautiful voices <33333
