It’s beyond the shadows, the book im writing Prologue: https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/1195385771/
It was a normal Tuesday morning, during the yearly warm summer break. Me and Hazel went to the lake around the block to mess around with the little fishies and frogs. We’ve been next door neighbors ever since our moms were pregnant. Hazel has a little brother named Tommy who’s only four. Normally he doesn’t come because he has four-year-old things to do, but today he begged Hazel to come along. I watched from my front porch as he begged. “Please Hazel, I really really want to come!” Tommy shouted at Hazel. “Alright alright.” Hazel said, “you can come as long as it’s okay with Amber.” Because Tommy’s so little, I couldn’t crush his little dreams by saying no. “Of course you can come, Tommy! We’ll have so much fun with you at the lake.” We all happily skipped off to the lake. “Ooh, Hazel, it’s so clear.” Tommy said, fascinated. “I know! Do you want to come with us tomorrow?” Hazel asked. “Of course!” He squealed. “Ooh look Tommy! It’s a frog!” I said. This little man loves amphibians so much, he basically loses his mind over them. “Eeeeeeee!” Tommy squealed. “Be careful Tommy, or you might scare it away if you keep squealing like that.” Hazel reminded. “Okay.” Tommy said. “But look at it, it’s so cute!” The little frog scurried away. “Aww, I wanted to pick it up!” Tommy said, sad. “I know Tommy, but look! It’s a salamander!” Hazel said, trying to comfort Tommy. The salamander quickly scurried away before Tommy could see. “Look! There’s a gecko!” I said. “Eeeeeeee!” Tommy squealed, quieter this time. “Look!” Hazel said. “Do you wanna pick it up?" “YES!” Tommy says. “Do you know how though?” I asked. “No” he admits. “Can you show me? Hazel told me you knew how!” “First,” I started,” you quickly cup it under your hands, like this!” “So what do I do now?” He asked. Abel was watching from a distance with a weird look on her face that I ignored. “So what you do now this that you gently pick it up by lightly squeezing its east to get a grip and quickly drop it onto your other hand. Cool, right?” “YES!” Tommy said, already running over to Hazel. Hazel walked over to me with that same expression from earlier.
