***DESIGN PROMPT IS NOT MINE*** Your favorite color = skin tone your gender = (fem = dragonfly wings; men = butterfly wings; any, all, none, or other = beetle wings) wing color = birth season (winter would be snowy or bare trees or whatever winter looks like in your area; spring might be flower colors or grass or something; summer i did gold because it gives gold; fall for me is either this bright blue october sky or the colors the leaves turn, but it'd probably just be what the season looks like in your area) if you celebrate christmas = antlers opposite hair length from yours if you have an older sibling = pet bug younger sibling = tail no siblings = antennae -------------------------------- lol i accidentally gave them bee wings XD probably because ive been drawing hivewings for so long that has just become my wing style 1. base sketch. this was the final product of much messing around and making sure that it was a fullbody, because my hand has a phobia of drawing fullbodies so i had to force it. this stage was making sure that i had all the positioning i wanted and every detail, like the antlers, where the legs are, where the tail is, what kind of wings they have, what they're wearing etc 2. lineart over the base sketch. here im making sure that there's no little cavities of tiny white pixels in the lineart that'll be a pain to fill tool later. we're doing hoodie texturing and stuff, but mostly just finalizing where stuff is. 3. removing the sketch layer. official lineart. i also fixed the stiffness of the tail and added little paw lines on the foot. (if you don't know, you can use the fill bucket and shift click with the transparent color to erase an entire color, which essentially makes each color a different layer) 4. base color. i was deciding the skin tone and filling everything to define what parts are character and what parts are not, and also to test if there were any more little white pixels to be covered up. 5. full color and aggressive hoodie shading. considering that i did almost no other shading besides the hoodie and hair this was very overdone but i had a heck ton of fun doing it so. there was much struggling in this step because i was trying to find colors that worked together while also keeping to the design prompt. i think i did okay with it, but i skipped the eyes until later because i felt like i had done a lot already. 6. colored lineart. i colored all of the lineart, did the eyes, added the hair highlights, and fixed up some stuff here and there. i also added the color palette on the side. then i did a check for any more black lines by drawing a small black box on the side and filling it and every other black pixel neon pink, so if there was any black left in the drawing, it'd be BANISHED. there wasnt any but at least now we know it is black-free 7. the only unnecessary step. i centered it. essentially the steps are: 1. sketch and decide 2. lineart 3. color 4. color lineart all art is mine :>
