Waves from Flowers from Polygons - No Trig: 1. Flowers from shapes: - translates circle's Y pos of into radius length - translates square's Y pos into radius length 2. Waves from flowers: - traces Y pos of each shape while moving forward Circle and Square are Regular Polygons See each wave's shape and sound Waves can be simply seen as height of a shape trace, like the height of a clock hand makes what's called a sine wave, but we need no sine functions, and don't use any here.
Smooth flower's radius is circling dot's height Pointy flower's radius is height of dot on square Red waves traces only height of shape on the left Circle from a constant turn => sinusoidal wave Square changes direction only 4 times. Triangle waves from square. Sinusoidal waves from circle. I tried a clipped wave from a level square Shapes drawn from turns, not cosine and sine Red pens match Y position of dot moving along perimeter of shapes (One can approximate any wave shape from adding sine functions, e.g. a triangle wave by adding a series of sine waves, with each odd harmonic's amplitude decreasing by the square of its harmonic number) Contrast with my project using sin & cos: https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/600800374/ Also see: https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/500868935/
