As you all may know, I've been away from Scratch for a LONG time. The reason for this? I've been busy and forgotten all about this website... Sorry about that. The biggest reason is that I've realized I can't do awesome things with Scratch like I want to. I was thinking about the game I want to create, one completely original... and I realized that Scratch just can't do it. The blocks I have, the annoying sprite maker that forces me to do my art on IbisPaintX and export it... It would take me ages, and that's for a mediocre result. The solution? Learn C++, and code a game with my own hands. I've started learning an actual programming language. I plan to develop a game by myself, with original story, art, music, and code. My dad is a software engineer, so that will definitely help. I've started to outline the game and even made quick progress through learning the coding language required. In fact, I'll give you guys a little look at C++: #include <iostream> int main() { std::cout << "I love you guys!\n"; } ...All that gibberish, and all it does is say "I love you guys!" That's it. This code has no other function. This won't be easy, but I'll make sure it's a game worth playing. If you want to try it, I'll keep you guys updated. Keep in mind that I plan to make it a psychological horror (no terrifying chase scenes (maybe some, just not absolutely nerve-wracking) or jumpscares, but lots of psychological stuff, so if you don't like blood or horror, don't play it and comment what kind of game you want to see instead) and style it something like Angels of Death or It's Not Me, It's My Basement. There will also be multiple endings, because I love that stuff. My end goal is to make something as elaborate as Genshin Impact all on my own (aside from voice-acting), but I know that's a pipe dream right now. I won't be quitting Scratch, but I will be making progress much more slowly. I'll occasionally take time to code here, but most of my time will be dedicated to improving my art skills, learning C++, and outlining the story. If you guys beg me to come back, though, I will, so if you want me to keep working hard over here, just let me know. The last thing I want is to disappoint my wonderful fans. I know there's not a lot of you, and you probably all forgot I exist, but I do appreciate the support. Scratch is amazing, but in my eyes, it's merely a starting point. My ambitions lie far beyond pre-coded blocks and green start flags. Today, I'm taking the first step toward making my dream a reality. Have an amazing day! - Wolfpelt
