Tuesday July 19 Este had a somber expression as I walked toward her at Olive Garden. "What's wrong?" I asked, after ordering dinner and wine, my voice laced with concern. "I haven't been able to sleep well lately" She replies "Really, why?" I said curiously Este responded with the words that changed both our lives forever "My husbands acting different, and it smells like infidelity" "How do you know?" I said shocked "That ain't my merlot on his mouth or my jewelry on our bank account" "We have to call him out" We continued to discuss about the subject until we left, I didn't know that would be the last time I would see her again. Tuesday July 26 Este hadn't shown up yet to our weekly dinner at Olive Garden. I called and texted her and her work, I was disappointed because I wanted to rant about one of the customers I had during my job, I work at a cleaning company, it's not the prettiest thing but it pays surprisingly well. I decided to call her husband, "Hey are you with Este right now? She hasn't shown up yet." "Este is missing" He said his voice with concern but I wasn't sure it was real. "Oh my god do you have any idea where she is?" "I've reported it and they will look for her" "Ok bye" I say hanging up He did it. Monday September 1 It's been more than a week since Este's disappeared, I passed by their house and his truck has some brand new tires, I heard he got her insurance money. I seems suspicious but on paper they had a perfect marriage and I was the first person Este told about his alleged cheating, his mistress has moved in, sleeps in Este's bed even, no shame, she seems very wealthy, I heard she has big life insurance policy. I know he did it, he murdered Este to get her insurance money and live with his mistress. Friday September 5 I picked out my clothes for Este's funeral, her body wasn't recovered and they declared it a cold case, No body no crime they called it. ------------------- Este's sister spoke at the funeral about how she'll never stop to seek justice for Este. Sunday September 7 It's bittersweet hearing the Mistress, whose name I learned was August, talk on the news about her boyfriend, just like how I heard him talk about Este over a month ago. Sunday September 14 They've arrested her, for Murder and Insurance Fraud. All the signs point to her but they just can't prove it. Monday September 15 "Good thing my daddy made me get a voting license when I was fifteen, And I've cleaned a scene, and thing Este's sister swore she was with me." I said to August when I visited her at prison. I heard she thinks I did it but she just can't prove it.
