Welp, I'm terrified of robots and angels now. Quick summary: A guy named Shinji Ikari goes inside a giant robot from a random organization, known as NERV., to fight some deranged, unsettling, and confusing things. Which are just Angels. One of them being a giant blue octahedron that shoots a massive beam and can scream (very unsettling btw...).
