“I have a perfectly reasonable explanation for this” I feel like I need to go all the way back to the beginning. So I will. When I first got my computer, I shared an account with my older sister. Our account was called “Kids”. Just in case you wanted to know. Back when I still used Kids on a regular basis, I rediscovered Scratch and started playing games on there. After a while, I got more daring, and I started loving and faving projects, commenting on them, all that stuff, and then I stumbled upon GWDFI and everything else. And that’s how my Scratch account got to where it is today. As we got older, Dad made two more accounts: “[sister’s name]” and “[my name]”, one for each of us, however he didn’t delete Kids. So I continued using Kids for Scratch, since I knew that Dad considered it abandoned and figured he would never check it or anything. (And also, it contained the option to delete internet history. Very important when you’re Scratching undercover.) So earlier today, I was on my camera, picking through photos and cropping and deleting as I saw fit, when suddenly my camera randomly decided to just evaporate the most recent 100 pictures or so—including those of one of our dogs (now deceased). Naturally, I was very upset about this, so I went to my dad to see if he could do anything. He couldn’t—those photos were gone for good, and some others had somehow gotten corrupted. However I did ask him to send me his photos of not just the dog whose photos got deleted, but all three of ours, and he agreed. So that’s our little silver lining there :D While trying to import the remaining photos from my camera and/or said dog photos, he realized just how low my storage was. (Lately it’s been around 2 GB at best, but mostly it’s been in the megabytes.) So he deleted my sister’s account (which she didn’t need anymore—she has her own computer now!) And then he realized that Kids was taking up a LOT of storage space. So he asked if that could get deleted too, and since I didn’t have a reasonable argument without giving Scratch away, I said yes. Initially we thought we’d have a couple weeks to a month before deleting it, but apparently the storage problem is REALLY bad, so we’re going to delete it tonight. TONIGHT. Wow. Okay. I thought I’d have more time than that before leaving Scratch, but here we are anyway. Now, I won’t be leaving completely—I’ll try to check in maybe once a month or so. Expect me on the 1st of each one, and I’ll try to sneak in for holidays as well. But know that since I’m now stuck to just the [my name] account, this will be risky. Even making and posting this project is a risk. Apologies if I don’t come online while you are. <3 I’m not leaving completely, but here we go: OH MY GOSH I’M GOING TO MISS YOU ALL SO FREAKING MUCH. Thank you all for the fun times, the laughs, the smiles, the comfort when I needed it most, the opportunities, all of it. Thank you all. I truly enjoyed it all so much, and I love and will miss every single one of you. *hugs and hugs and more hugs* uhhhhhhh ok what else was I going to say uhhhhhhhh Feel free to drop in and leave a kind message, but also, please try to keep my mail relatively minimum. If you need something, definitely reach out, (and expect a reply within four weeks ;D) but I don’t need my inbox blowing up with “WWWHHHAAATTT YOUR ACCOUNT IS 8 YEARS OLD???” every month. I’ll probably come back for good once I’m grown up and actually in charge of my devices and whatnot. Maybe I’ll have outgrown Scratch by then, who knows. Maybe I’ll be a moderator lol. But I promise I will come back, even if only to say a final goodbye. Magic carpet signing out <33333 And also Scratch's moderation is... questionable. Another silver lining—I won't be online as much to be bothered by it!
Moral of the story: Make sure your camera is trustworthy. I love you guys <3 I'M GONNA CRY-
