Welcome! I'm hosting a contest for 2 years since I've joined Scratch! Some of you might know about it already, but I have not provided the full details, since I've been withholding the information until the day of the contest. I apologize for any inconvenience. Anyone can join! :D ~ How This Works This contest is going to work differently than the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd sort of contests. Notice how it says 'Awards' in the contest name. That is because in this contest, there are 3 different categories in each of the 3 types of projects you can make. Below lists the 3 project types, and their categories. - Game Awards 1a. Most Quality-Filled Game Award — rewards effort, refinement, and smooth execution 1b. Most Creative Concept Award — highlights unique mechanics or fresh ideas 1c. Most Educational Game Award — celebrates games that teach or inspire curiosity - Art Awards 2a. Most Detailed Art Award — for visually rich, intricate works 2b. Most Expressive Art Award — captures emotion, character, or mood 2c. Best Use of Color Award — honors strong palette choices and visual impact - Writing Awards 3a. Most Picture-able Writing Award — vividly descriptive storytelling 3b. Most Realistic Writing Award — grounded, believable prose or dialogue 3c. Deepest Lore Award — rewards rich backstory, culture, or worldbuilding - About the Categories Ok, this was definitely the most complicated part to figure out: how to put the contestants trying for an award in order. I kept thinking about it for days, and here's my result. As a contestant, you can choose any of the categories of awards to attempt for. I'll try my best to put you in a place you want. The reason if I can't would be because that award you chose already has 2-3 people who got that place before you. (I'm trying to even out the contestants on the awards they can try for.) So you might not get the one you want. But you CAN ask to get a second award spot to get later on, when spots are fuller. Just ask in your form beforehand. If you fill your form earlier, then it's more likely for you to be able to attempt for the award you want. But if you fill the form more later, then I might have to ask you to try a different award if the one you first asked for is fuller than others. That's why it is important to try for spots earlier. Credit sources (And me, for the contest) Please follow these rules when entering this contest. ~ Dates Contest Start: August 8th Due Date: December 20 All entries must be submitted before the due date, but the due date could extend if few entries are turned in. ~ PGs PGs are prize-givers. The PGs in this contest will be following the winners that were chosen for the awards. I will need a number of PGs close to 18 at maximum. The PG slots were planned to be filled with non-contestants, but since adding contestants as PGs complicates things, since you can't follow yourself. But I'm allowing contestants to be PGs for this contest.
