Soon, the whole school gasps in shock. Her best friend froze. Her siblings burst into tears, in act. June got everyone’s attention. The school principal calls the ambulance, for this is something far beyond what the nurse can do. The ambulance took her in, and it is soon revealed that the cause of this was not illness, or regular reasons, the cause of this was because of emotional pain. Her friends and family started questioning themselves, asking, “Did I do anything wrong to her?”. A few days later, June was released. She was actually fine, but the ambulance overreacted because of one little faint. She forgot all about Picture Day. But the memory of why she doesn’t like it, still remains, and it’s never going to be forgotten. Everyone asks her if she’s okay, and she replies with a simple nod. A little disturbed, though. Everyone thought she was just tired, but her best friend, Ryan, who had been friends with her for 4 years, realized she was disturbed. They sat together at Lunch, June barely saying a word, while Ryan was trying to cheer her up. June says, “It’s just not fair.”. Of course, Ryan had no idea what June was talking about. So her reply was what anyone would have said, “What?”. Lunch was over, but June’s pain wasn’t. June repeated the sentence millions of times to Ryan whenever they were together. The sentence, “It’s just not fair.”. Ryan was incredibly confused, but that just strengthened the feeling she had about June being disturbed. At the end of the day, June’s teacher, Ms. Summer, told June’s mother about the fainting problem. Her Mom’s face turned pale, not because she was worried, but because she was angry, because she knew the reason. When they arrived home, June’s mother locked her in her room and told her not to utter a word. June nodded in fear. A few minutes later, her Mom knocked on the door. June opened it. She found June crying, but was still angry. She said in fuming anger, “Why are you still thinking about that? Why are you still thinking about him? He never ever thought about you, why should you? Just relax, and enjoy your Picture Day like anyone else would. Stop it. I know you’ve been having flashbacks, I can sense it.”. June simply replied, “You’re the only one that doesn’t.”. And June walked out the door without her Mom’s permission, and they didn’t speak to each other the whole night.
