June’s siblings placed a bomb with a timer in the Photo Booth, and closed the door. While they go play, July stays at the door, with some tears coming out of her eyes. She wipes them off, not wanting anyone to see them. She takes a step and asks June, “Are you okay?”, June’s angry, but takes a deep breath, and calms down, replying, “No, you guys locked me in here with a bomb. I don’t know about you, but I don’t think anyone would be okay in this situation! And I really thought you guys loved me. No, you don’t! You just used me for help on homework, help with life choices, and a bunch of other dumb stuff. You… you don’t love me, and never will. Why don’t I just set this bomb off? It’s already at 59, why should we wait? Don’t you guys want to get rid of me?”. July doesn’t know how to reply, but she just hears June’s cries. After a while of thinking, she replies with, “I don’t care what they think. I don’t care if they’ll love me or not. I… don’t care… about them”. This wasn’t supposed to be a reply, July was just talking to herself, but June heard it, but didn’t understand. She hears something, and finds July opening the door. June steps out of the Photo Booth, and hugs July. “Thank you.”, says June. July just smiles. June comes with July to go see their siblings. When Janette and Jamal see June alive, they freeze in shock. June walks up to them and says, “You can’t get rid of me that easily.”. She runs off to her Mom, and tells her Mom everything. Instead of getting mad, her Mom doesn’t believe June, and says that her siblings are just little kids, and could never do something like that. Her Mom walks away, leaving June to have to do something herself. Meanwhile, Janette and Jamal argue with July about freeing June. They go on and on, and eventually, Janette says something that breaks July’s heart, so she runs off. That sentence repeated in July’s head, while tears flowing down her face like a river. “You’re adopted, go back to your life on the streets. Go ask to be friends with the rats, because you don’t belong here, nor do we want you here.”. Ok, let’s go back to July’s past… As a kid, July was the youngest out of 4 kids. But, she would do all the chores, with no break whatsoever. Her whole body would ache, but she was loyal. This started ever since she turned 3, all the way to the age of 8. After a few months when she turned 8, her parents threw her in the street, giving her nothing. No shelter, no food, no water, no money, nothing. She stayed outside for 6 months, but then she went to a nearby store, and there she found June, Janette, Jamal, and their Mom. When their Mom saw her with terrible clothes and nothing to eat or drink, she felt bad, and asked July where her parents were. She said, “They… They… They used me, and then left me.”. Their Mom took her in, and treated her as her own daughter. June saw July crying and asked what happened. July explained EVERYTHING. Not a single detail was left unnoticed. June was furious, but comforted July for a while, and then went to Janette and Jamal.
